There are confirmed, recent reports of 2000 mile drone sorties. Things move fast in AI and Drone warfare. Parts of Alaska are < 2500 miles from parts of the main Hawaiian Islands. Unconfirmed reports have drone attacks approaching 3,500 miles...
Wow. Looks like this was done with the same FP-1 platform that costs $55K for the base model.

There are many types of drones. Small, large. The US has had drones in use in the Middle East for decades that stayed airborne undetected for many days. That’s why the US has so many bases there, one reason anyway. The unarmed drones could launch, track terrorist leaders for days and weeks, learn their movements, then an armed drone would be sent to finish the job.
A larger drone could be like a small Cessna, except unpiloted. Not hard to imagine that could reach thousands of miles. A larger drone of that type would probably require a high value target. Probably nothing like that in Puna. Swarms of inexpensive smaller drones wouldn’t have that range. Of course, they could always be launched from a boat. But towards Puna, to what end?
Many of those bases have been seriously damaged recently by Iranian drones.
Yes, it seems likely that evil AI drone attacks would ignore Hawaii.
