Who needs tariffs when we have Matson and Young Brothers taking their cut of everything? And don't forget J. Hara, he imposes an additional 40% tariff on everything he imports from Hilo to sell to us third worlders! Can you believe the knuckle draggers that do their grocery shopping there? That’s just with the high cost of transportation to Kurtistown. By the time you get to Volcano they don’t even bother to put prices on the merchandise. The labor involved in tagging food items or even just one label on the shelf would drive the cost up even more! One ice cream bar costs more than an entire box at Costco. If you have to ask - - they know you probably won’t buy it.
