Gym Anyone?
#21
Carol,
Since you know that there are highly trained Pilates instructors here, another idea (and probably the only one that really would be convenient) would be to see if a group from work (include parents & such in your inquiry) would be interested in establishing a studio area at/near work... your core group would need to finance the equipment upfront & the ongoing instructor/rental fees, but it would be the most convenient for you (as even Pahoa would be more of a drive for you, and Keaau town would mean a stop on the way home...and the times that the instructor chose may not be those that are convenient for you...)

Many a gym has started out by just a few core individuals that felt a need for it in a certain location.

We have many Pilates Instructors here in Hawaii, but not many on the East Side have the actual REFORMER. I am an older and have issues with my back and legs and I find that this gal is helping me get so much stronger. As we get older having balance, stamina and strength is very important. I discovered that someone else finds her services of value on YELP

This studio is a God send to folks that need to strengthen their bodies right here in Pahoa!

I'd be interested in joining the gym as long as the membership is reasonably priced, offered classes, and wasn't stuffed into a tiny space (can't hardly handle too many gym smells and stuffy atmosphere). I just cancelled my mainland gym membership and am open to another :-)

Enjoy the day! Ann
