Vaccinated People Spread The Delta Variant, CDC Says
You simply cannot force someone to inject something into their body that they don't want to.

And yet we do all the time.  For school.  Some for their jobs.  For travel to foreign countries.  TB test for restaurant workers.

Should our government go fully "big-brother"

We follow all kinds of rules, pay taxes, etc.
What if someone moved here from Japan or England, shipped their car to Hawaii & insisted on driving on the left side of the road?  And they had personal beliefs, reasons and experiences that driving on the left side was better.   What if they got on Facebook and convinced 65% of the people in Puna it was the correct way to drive?

we are now facing nursing shortages... drive school buses... postal carriers

All people with personal opinions.  Nurses take classes in health care, but they can also have political preferences and pressures that override their training.  The COVID vaccine is not the first and only medical recommendation that some nurses find overreaching or ill advised.  There are nurses who will tell you never to take aspirin because it has serious negative side effects.  Other nurses will tell you to take it every day for your heart.
I agree that a person has the right to not get the vaccine.

But rights come with responsibilities.

If someone exercises their right to not get vaccinated, then they need to be held responsible for the consequences of that choice, and not go to a hospital once they catch covid and take up limited resources to crowd out other patients in need of non-covid care.
This thread needs a TL;DR -

Vaccines Good.

Unvaccinated People Bad.

Move along, Nothing to see here.
Kander,

Do you not know that Pfizer has full FDA approval?

And why do you say it has questionable efficacy, when it's obviously effective?

Also, do you really believe there could be such a broad uptick in side effects without scientists or the media taking note of it? J&J was in the news for far less than all that.
Making a requirement to be vaccinated in order to fly, enter a restaurant, attend a concert, etc., is not "forcing" someone to get vaccinated.  It is giving them a choice - to be part of a healthy society, or to be a nomad.  There is a choice there.  In my own house I can walk around naked, smoke all day, and be drunk as a skunk.  No one can take that freedom away from me.  But I can't walk the streets naked, smoke in a restaurant, or drive drunk - those are requirements that society has agreed upon as being for the greater good.

So there is a choice for people who don't want to get vaccinated.  Those people just want to have their cake and eat it too - they want the "freedom" to not take it, but be a safety hazard to the rest of society in the process.  As the last month or so has shown us, the anti-vaxxers are in the distinct minority, the majority are getting sick of having their freedom impacted by the decisions of anti-vaxxers, and mandates are the logical next step.

Do you not know that...

Unfortunately Kander is only able to regurgitate his handler's talking points. Seriously, haven't you noticed, the guy has yet to post any independent thought. He has never shown the ability to question, and check, the validity of the stuff he posts here. It's all propaganda trickling down for the watering holes FB idiots visit. You can find everything he says, often times verbatim, on the search engine of your choice.

If you want to understand Kander you might want to look into the way Facebook propagates lies. And how effective they are in getting people to spend hours and hours swallowing them without any question of their veracity.

To that end, the Wall Street Journal just published an article on the subject that might be worth reading. You can find it at..

https://www.wsj.com/articles/facebook-al...1631654215

It's a very long, and very revealing article.. that can be read at the link above.. but one paragraph reads...

Data scientists on that integrity team—whose job is to improve the quality and trustworthiness of content on the platform—worked on a number of potential changes to curb the tendency of the overhauled algorithm to reward outrage and lies. Mr. Zuckerberg resisted some of the proposed fixes, the documents show, because he was worried they might hurt the company’s other objective—making users engage more with Facebook.
"And yet we do all the time.  For school.  Some for their jobs.  For travel to foreign countries.  TB test for restaurant workers."

No HOTPE that is incorrect.  Poor examples.

Students are not forced to go to public schools.  People have choices of employment.  People can choose not to travel to foreign countries.

So back to what I said.  You simply cannot FORCE someone to inject something into their body that they don't want to.

Punaperson:  You do have a legitimate point.  Should people who get deathly ill from covid19 be allowed to go to the hospital after refusing a covid vax?  Especially when they IC units are full.

Re authorization of the EUA is not "full approval" as you have been told by fox news.
https://www.fda.gov/media/150386/download

"On August 23, 2021, FDA approved the biologics license application (BLA) submitted by
BioNTech Manufacturing GmbH for COMIRNATY (COVID-19 Vaccine, mRNA) for active
immunization to prevent COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 in individuals 16 years of age and
older. On August 23, 2021, having concluded that revising this EUA is appropriate to protect the public
health or safety under section 564(g)(2) of the Act, FDA is reissuing the August 12, 2021 letter
of authorization in its entirety with revisions incorporated to clarify that the EUA will remain in
place for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for the previously-authorized indication and
uses, and to authorize use of COMIRNATY (COVID-19 Vaccine, mRNA) under this EUA for
certain uses that are not included in the approved BLA."

It really cant be any more clear. Its right there in the authorization letter. I dont give a f*ck what fox news says.
It really cant be any more clear. Its right there in the authorization letter.

Read carefully: FDA granted full approval for individuals 16 years of age and older, while also leaving the EUA in place for ages 12-15 and extending the EUA to allow a third (booster) shot.

Disclaimer: I do not work for Fox News.
Students are not forced to go to public schools.  People have choices of employment.  People can choose not to travel to foreign countries.

If the unvaccinated set up schools for their children, chose jobs that use Zoom, didn’t travel, etc - - I would be fine with their decision.
