The most Hawaii County thing ever

RandomQ Posted: Sometimes people show up to shitty, low paying, soul crushing government jobs hung over, stoned, sleep deprived, indifferent, or just plain dumb.

We are confident that the hopefully soon to be formed Hawaii County DMT (Department of Misfit Trees), endowed with surveillance and taxation powers, will be staffed exclusively with sober, well rested, passionate, valedictorians.

...they knocked a month off my registration and safety check so instead of it being due on 9/27, it's now due by the end 8/27.

OK, I don't know why I ask as there is hardly ever a response, but what are the numbers on the safety inspection sticker attached to your bumper? 8/27 or 9/27?

The DMV CANNOT change the expiration of the safety inspection. My guess is that your original safety inspection ALWAYS expired on 8/27 but your registration expired 9/26 and your initial renewal rejection was due to a careless reading of 8/27 and confusing it as 8/26, thus the DMV wrongly assumed your safety inspection had expired for a September renewal.
