When I was was there two weeks ago,I couldn't get a straight answer on setbacks for the plot plan and water catchment. finally went to building dept. They told me 8'from sides and 15' from rear & front. and water catchment must not be in this area either. but no restrictions on how close water catchment is to house. I am
amased that the people selling tanks had no
idea. I think it's better to check with building dept than relying on second hand info.

In defense of the water catchment people not knowing setback requirements:

Setbacks vary from zone to zone and by lot size and by the height of the building. Too many varibles for a catchment tank dealer to keep up with.

Planning Dept is the place to get this info.

What area was that setback info you were given for? My Seaview lot is 62x125' so that would leave only a 46x95' building area, which isn't much room for a house and catchment tank. The link to the zoning book unfortunately seems to confirm that. I wonder if that applies to swimming pools too.

robguz, The setbacks where for Seaview. The people at the planning dept where very helpfull. I would ask them if you need more
detailed info.
I know that there is a new home in seaview that is elevated and has two poly tanks under the house. The poly tanks are expensive and it takes more tanks to equal metal capacity because of the sizes they come in.
