Costco gas $3.74
#11
Kind of related to filtering gas. I was told to not get gas at a station where the tanker is refilling the tanks. It stirs up the sediment in the tank & it will go directly into your tank. Makes sense.

How long does it take for the "sediment to settle down after the truck leaves?
All Costco gas pumps have filters on them.
Anyway, your vehicle should have a fuel filter on it just for those times you get gas "after the truck's been there".

It is my (possibly mistaken) understanding that the price differential of gas, between stations, is related to the additives that are put in at the refinery. No or very few additives and you have cheaper gas. You also risk having funk grow in you tank and other issues normally addressed by the additives. This may be unrelated to the Costco price differential.

usually the Costco gas in Kona is within a few cents of Hilo gas...not sure why the huge difference all of a sudden.

Weird!! Now it's $3.75 in Kona and $3.84 on Oahu??? Maybe a tanker got stranded in Kona & sold off their gas to Costco CHEEP!
