There's a DQ in the mall in Hilo in the food court across from the Arbys. I had a peanut buster parfait there just a little while ago.

A GOOD ramen shop would be a great fit. Almost everyone loves ramen. If there is an ideal demographic, it's here (and Hilo): lots of Japanese, Japanese locals, not to mention even high quality ramen is relatively CHEAP.

But it's gotta be GOOD! Smile

I wonder if there is any financial incentives to bringing in local businesses instead of national chains? Like tax breaks or ?

It would be nice for whatever goes in to be *Hawaii* based not "Delaware" based ( [:p] ).

What about an indoor farmer's market like Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston?

I wonder if it will make the traffic better or worse.

I'll be very happy to see KFC gone.

As for everything else.. Just make it beautiful and natural, like our Island is already. No corporate eye-sores.

Big Island, and Puna specifically, is horribly under cared for as far as medical/dental, so that would be a nice edition.
