Jim, yes he was. It was recorded by the 911 dispatcher, she could hear it over the sounds of the jeeps engine and other noise on my phone. I've lived in MANY states all over the country and this is the very first time anything like this has ever happened to me. I get honked at sometimes, people get short tempered sometimes when they have to wait but this was not like that, this person is crazy. I'm looking over my shoulder everywhere I go looking for that red jeep.

it sounds like it was a random incident and didn't have anything to do with you or what you were doing.

Hmm, a crazy person in Punticland . . . I always carry my machete in my truck just in case I have to cut up a tree that fell across the road. I try not to make eye contact w/ strange strangers. Sorry you had to experience that. Kudos on her driving & your level headedness.

I still think the cops could easily find this guy with DMV records, though you might have to specifically request that they step things up. Police around here seem to be fairly lackadaisical about things below a certain level.

My daughter might have found out who it is. She described the incident at school to one of her classmates and the child was like "OMG I think that's my Moms crazy scary uncle" I guess the area/vehicle/person description all fit.

I asked my daughter to find out his name and I'll call the police with that to see if it's the same person.

Quote - whoever was in the jeep that was following us was also honking the horn.

That's the part of your story that really bothered me. Working in downtown Houston it is not uncommon to see an unstable person standing on the corner acting out. They get pretty rambunctious sometimes but they never follow you and I've never seen a "buddy". I would have been scared too knowing there were two people following.
I feel sorry your daughter had to experience that.

Edited for spelling. Stupid iPad keyboard.

It would be helpful if you could tell everyone what kind of Jeep it was. A wrangler, Cj-7, Cj-5, or a Cherokee wagon. And what started this nut to chase you???
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.
