Rock wall price
#1
We are extending the playground in Leilani and need the wall along the street extended. Not a big job, maybe 50' x 2'-3' high, and we would like to use an actual contractor with lic. and ins. Any ideas or recommendations out there?

ost all the good rock builders are simply skilled individuals. Any licensed contractor can hire them for you. After you check the contractor's references, check the references of the wall builder himself.

I would guess about $10 psf from an individual (you supply the rock). Add a contractor's overhead, profit and insurance you probably can add 40%
Assume the best and ask questions.

FYI IMO
The best rockwall builders will have no license, they will be Fijian, Samoan, Tongan, etc.

they have the most experience with this 'art', but can take a long time to complete it (dont give them too much $$ up front or they are even slower)

Tonakene Hualani (maybe Hulani) is a licensed masonary contractor who builds awesome rock walls. (and yes he is Tongan).

I will see if I can find his #.

Anyone build a wall around an HPP one-acre shaped log (long and narrow)? What did it cost you?

How tall a wall are you talking about, that changes the price.

I have seen very few tall walls all the way around HPP acres, I have seen some low walls, but most people just invest a wall for the front, and fence the sides.

edited to add one 3 letter word theat changed the whole menaing of what I wrote (ooops!)

Carol, perhaps a 4 foot wall. That seems to be the standard height.
