Uncle looking for an SUV or Truck

Hanai uncle is looking for something reliable with some ground clearance to get in and out of the rough parts of Hawaiian Acres. Does not need to be 4x4, 4 cylinder is great, manual or automatic are fine, ideally less than 100k miles, or not much over. He is older with health issues and a limited income, can't afford repairs (his old vehicle was becoming a money pit.) Budget ~$4000.
