I cannot help thinking that many folks are really disgusted at stress, expense etc they had to endure because of this impending lava flow. It may never happen. Imagine after all this rukkus of doom and gloom you move, you close your business and wheres the freaking lava? Im kind of think that these people who did relocate, move business, close business, want to feel that they went through all this mess and expense for good reason LIKE A REAL LAVA FLOW that did penetrate where they live so at least they can feel better about their move.

Look at the bright side: "Drive To Hilo" was a valid development plan after all.

We went to the Foodland store in Keaau yesterday. Never seen it quite like that. We barely found a parking space in the entire parking area for the whole shopping area on the Post Office side of the road. And we had to cruise the lot for a while to find that one. Guess it was a combination of reasons. Holiday weekend. The closing of the Malama Market. The first part of the month. The malasada stand in the grass by the Post Office. etc.

lol THATS IS WHAT i HAVE BEEN SAYING. iT IS A MESS! mE AND BROTHER DECIDED THE ONLY TIME WE ARE GOING TO kEEAU IS TO GO TO PHARMACY AND TO NOTE YOU HAVE TO PARK FAR AWAY FROM THE BLITZ OF SEEMINGLY CONFUSED, DISTURBED, ANGRY SHOPPERS Sorry about caps.It is ridiculous and the shopping plaza will not hire attendants to help Its a fiasco! Cars hitting other cars. People walking right in back of you as you are pulling out, Arguments etc PANDAMONIUM! It is crazy! I hated Malama market but I did not expect this that bad!

NOTE be sure to update your insurance to cover collision if you are going to be a regular customer in Keaau. I will guarantee you at some point you will back into a pedestrian, hit another vehicle etc Sometimes there are 3 cars pulling out at one time, then on top of that a pedestrian comes along HAVOC! The maintenance man last week when it was raining hard was standing in parking lot trying to guide people out safely. HJe held up his small leaf rake and he tried to no avail to help the fol;ks but it was chaos. AQgain all of you that read this please for all of our sake plan wisely going there. GO EARLY NEVER late! Be prepared to get your anxiety level way up and bring a baseball bat just in case

Everyone I know is very relieved that this lava flow has not wrecked havoc and destruction on our community and understand that the HVO scientists and CD have been working with the best information they have had at the time so far. I am so glad that the prediction of lava crossing the road by Halloween was wrong, same thing as the later predictions. What would you prefer, massive destruction to what turned out to be overly hasty voluntary evacuations by businesses?

Rob Tucker that is a very valid question; one which, if answered honestly, would probably take several lines. No pun intended.

Very good news. Now, just let the front stall and the next big breakout be a couple months up slope. In a month, the usual 10-second attention span mass amnesia will have set in and the people buying places sight unseen over the internet will have no idea where the breakout is located. A great time to be getting out, especially with a good profit to relocate.
