wondering if anyone has tried that new rental yet at home depot? it is on its own trailer, and according to the rental guy, one of the diggers has special tips that can bore through lava... just wondering if anyone has tried it, it seems so much easier then a jackhammer if it will really do the job. hubby's back is also wondering...

Had my hopes up for a bit.... Looked at it this evening. The guy said yep it drills rock but frankly it doesn't seem possible. Core drill, maybe, but not grinding a 12" hole through solid blue-rock.

lavalava what works is the rock drill. we get the 3 inch, and the compressor and about 100 feet of hose. price went up since last year, now about 180 but depending on terrain, we have done as many as 48 posts in one setting. it is one heavy sucker but gets the job done...
