I really like this idea. It allows folks to measure levels at their residence over time, compare to others doing similar things and to hopefully get an independent view of what is happening. The only down side is that the meters I looked at on your list only read in ppm, whereas h2s concentrations are generally in the ppb range.

It's well worth a read on the topic. It covers not just typical h2s levels, but also health effects for both single incidence and chronic exposure to h2s at levels we are typically seeing around pgv.

I think a distinction can, and should be made between 007's alluding to "corruption" and vested/economic interests being the motivation for thread participants to hew to a position and those participants responses to them. It seems inappropriate to question anothers ethics before one answers to the posed questions or challenged logic. That is "attacking the man".
Yes, casting aspersions on Harry Kim is a criticism of the man, but that is not necessarily an 'ad hominem' attack (an attack on the man making the argument). For that matter questioning the address of the challenger who bases his sharpest arguments on proximity to PGV seems less an "attack on the man" and more a means for determination of Punatic007's basis for the accusations. For purposes of this thread, and this line of argument, it does matter when somebody moved into Leilani Estates if they use PGV emissions as a loss of enjoyment. Or in P007's case, health. Answering the question posed by leilanidude seems appropriate. Accusing him of receiving royalties or payments for "poisoning the neighbors" seems inappropriate.

Sorry - getting the links formtted correctly, especialy with video time jumps, is difficult on first pass. Combined with pw not playing friendly with my mobile device and preview tending to erase my post in progress, editting in stages is difficult to avoid.

I'm keeping my posts to a minimum, although dense, and posting off-hours as much as possible. I'll add the EDIT line if that helps as well.

Additionally, there are plenty of heavy industrial facilities in residential neighborhoods on the mainland. Oil refineries in Long Beach, CA, for example. Pulp Mills, lumber mills, and much more can be found well under 1 mile from residential neighborhoods.

Hmmm.. VancouverIslander have you actually tried to swim in the ocean at Long Beach in the last 20 years? You DEFINITELY don't want to swim there now. I remember as a kid it was wonderful, but now it's so polluted that many of the beaches that I used to enjoy are permanently closed. I'm not sure if that was a very good example...

Not saying it's a good thing, just that it's happening all over. The other thing they have in common? They all produce H2S (except lumber mills). Of all of them, geothermal seems to be the least problematic from a pollution stand point. Long Beach has a city of several million contributing to the pollution in the surrounding ocean.
