Hawaiian Acres Problems
tell me more about everything youll allow us to do

I would simply "allow" the permit-license-fee-inspection regime to stay out of the way.

instead of actually doing anything yourself!

Dare not suggest I am doing nothing.

If I do the work, it will be performed on a road of my choosing, on such schedule as I deem appropriate.

If I join HARC, they will work on some road they choose, if and when they decide to bother.[/i]

there are many unpermitted structures in the acres, a pizza store/business , and bad roads, worst in the state . the board of directors for HACA does not communicate with their membership and dose not seem to follow the by laws . HARC keeps asking for money and has not held an election for 2 years for their board that is 4 ? people appointed by who knows. yes this is a truely messed up situation . How does it get fixed ?
I don't think giving money to HACA and HARC will fix any of the problems. both organizations act as independent groups like they are a private club , and not accountable to the dues paying members. it is obvious by the low amount of paid members , that many of the land owners are fed up with what has and is going on .

Which is why people (myself included) fix the roads on their own.

Thus, all I ask is that HACA, HARC, and County stay out of the way.

How does it get fixed ?

The ultimate "fix" is proper tax-funded public roads. Given how County handles their existing funding and road inventory, I suspect the outcome would actually be more taxes and less maintenance than currently. Again: cheaper and easier if they just stay out of the way.

youre not the boss of me

Neither is this forum my boss, viz "tell me more about everything youll allow us to do".

So, if nobody wants to volunteer and there are only 4 board members...you still want to hold an election? Does not make any sense to me. Punish the only people willing to take on such a thankless job. People who are VOLUNTEERING many hours helping make the roads better for YOU to drive on. What a way to support your community!
And how are you fixing it? Besides trying to shut everything down?
I have been to HARC meetings, things are moving forward, roads are getting work done. Although not as much as is needed due to the low funds caused by low membership caused by people like you spreading gossip and lies.
As for HACA not communicating with membership...check your mail. I got a letter today about the proxies and bylaws.

Be part of the solution, not the problem. I only see you post negative nasty things about your community here. If I was that unhappy with where I lived, I would leave.

Just sayin...

What does the pizza business have to do with anything? Are you complaining about that too? Did you visit and receive bad pizza? I bet not. I'm sure you did not support them but plan to sabatoge their setup. Same as the way you ruined farmers market and free food Saturday. Also you say our roads are worst in state? Did u set up a poll and votes were taken? Worse roads than hana Kauai back 40 ag area? Worse than anywhere on Kauai? Total bs. Your name really should be: imakestuffup

I think this thread is a gold mine for the academic study of the psyche of the indigenous fauna of the region.
