#11
Eigoya,

Just for fun, look up PVC bows on internet .... Fun project to make and implement.

Shoot line over them and yank down ...

Hey, I bought a set of arrows and a bow for my daughter last year. Finally, we'll get some use out of them. Good thinking.

a long bamboo pole with a wire clothes hanger (or something similar) attached also works.

Just finished treating all my bromeliads with "mosquito bits". Got em today from Amazon.com. We'll see how they work.

If you can spare the water all you need to do is rinse out the collected rotting vegetable matter.

Usually we get enough rain to keep them flushed out.

I checked mine yesterday and see no wigglers.

Civil Defense stopped at our house last week and gave us a jug of mosquito bits to put in puddles and bromeliads. Said it's ok for everything but catchment tank. Has anybody seen mosquitos in pineapples? Guess I'm in denial about them being a threat. They're not just ornamental, they're delicious food! Guess I should go inspect them ...

With much effort we have removed 100sqftof bromeleides only to uncover another 250 hiding under brush. At this point, what herbicide does the least damage to a jungle environment? I just want them out, but they skirt hibiscus, palms, etc which I don't want out. Suggestions (short of pulling, which we are doing, but the next ice age will be here before we can Clear the acre of all of them)

I'm getting good results with spot application of non-water-soluble herbicide (currently half-half Crossbow and kerosene). Nasty stuff -- wear gloves and stay upwind -- but it stays right where I put it, no runoff.

Ok I'm headed to ACE now. What do the two ingredients do that one does not? It seems petrol could kill all of them..... Thanx. Plants are not my forte....
