Having seen the people that are "camping? in the front of the bowling alley building, they are not "tourists".
The police aren't running them out because they are on "private property" as opposed to those who sleep on public sidewalks and parks. Until the owner of the bowling alley files complaints, they will continue to "camp" there.

I suppose you'd have a better place that the homeless haven't thought of if you were to be on the street. I envision you being the first person camped in this totally appropriate place that everybody approves of and when the next person who also did not have a home noticed you, they would just plop right next to you and offer you a smoke for one of your beers.
I have noticed.

About a week ago we were at Cost U Less, and the cops were at the bowling alley building. There weren't any homeless folks in sight, and the cops were at the front and back of the building.

A few days ago it was empty of homeless at the bowling alley... but there were a couple behind the liquor store.

Costco should buy the bowling alley and Cost-U-Less, bulldoze both of them, build the Costco, and give the homeless and employees of Cost-U-Less great paying jobs with outstanding benefits.
And sell 10-packs of rope swings at a price so good, you'd be losing money on the deal if you didn't put it in your cart.

Law Enforcement have recently been contacted by the Owners of the property to remove all the trespassers residing on bowling alley property due to liability issues and the uptick of crime in the area.
Speak with Don who is one of the managers of Cost - U - Less for the full scoops .

I like the idea of the bowling alley becoming a homeless shelter for the ones who really need it.

At the 3.8 million asking price... that would be an expensive homeless shelter... after remodeling ..etc. although some of the land could be subdivided and least out to help cover costs.

Speaking of Costco....
We asked at the Costco in Kona about whether or not one would be built over here. They said what determines location is where the members live. If enough east siders sign up, then they will build one here.
Yep, that's what they told us.....
