Must be a half price sale on sight seeing yesterday and today. Between 12 and 2 they were over us about every ten minutes. Couple times two even passed coming and going. I can understand the specialness of a Christmas flight to the volcano, but it seemed everyone was doing it!

Yes it's been very noisy these last few days. Even in the pouring rain. Makes me wonder what can be seen when conditions are that bad?

I'm pretty sure it's the homeless up there. Driven out of Kolekole and the bowling alley, they've taken to the skies.

Not sure there's "more" but they are definitely "way lower", flying at "Green Harvest" altitudes despite the "Volcano Tourist" flight path.

There was a cruise ship in port - direct from Calif - 6 thousand eager tourists ready to see what ever can be seen via helicopter tours .
In addition D.E.A. are here staying at KMC till Jan 10th 2016 spending tax dollars on eradication of plants .
Cruise ship days are now on winter schedules - meaning more ships in port - Tuesdays - Thursdays - Saturdays as a general rule.
D.E.A. in town - winter harvest of plants .

There was NO cruise ship in from the 23rd thru the 28th!
But, every Tuesday.. The Pride of America... BTW, No ship has 6000 passengers!
The passenger listing from HIDOT is the MAX the ship MAY have, not what is actually on it.

They fly VFR so on the last few days when it was really rainy they were all flying offshore and passing close to HPP.
Sunny today so they are back to flying over Kalakoa's house.

It seemed the cloud cover has forced them lower of late. But I did notice that they were much higher on some clear days a couple of weeks ago.
