Looking for a place to post photos of the building process of our house for friends and family here and back home. Like to hear the cost, ease of use and any problems encountered it the use of such places. This is all new to me so simple is better!
I have Hawaiian Telcom DSL so speed isn't a problem.

Royall perhaps Emily Eisner will chime in here. She has a yahoo account and blogs all her photos and such for family and friends. I have no idea how much it costs or how labor intensive it is, but she could fill you in.
We have our own web site and I believe it is about $100 a year. That said it takes Gene a while to update info and photos and he retrains himself each time he does this. Not easy for someone who doesn't do it all the time.
Good luck and we're looking forward to seeing your progress!! Aloha Mella L

The Yahoo Blog is free! All you have to do is register for a Yahoo account. Go to
http://360.yahoo.com/login.html?.done=http%3A%2F%2F360.yahoo.com%2F&.src=360 - this is the Blog sign up. It's a fairly new service that Yahoo provides. With just a plain old Yahoo account, you can get free e-mail, and upload as many pictures as you want. But the Blog is neat, because it's like an online "journal" that you can update as you wish. Check mine out at:
http://360.yahoo.com/emilyeissner - you can see pictures in the upper right hand corner, there are several folders - I have not updated the pictures in a long time, but the Blog is current. This is how I keep my friends and family back home up to date with what we are doing here.

We like
WWW.FLICKR.COM it is part of Yahoo now and has many many good features. It has fast uploads and is easy to use. We keep all our photos (on our computer) on GOOGLE's PICASA software. It's free and very user friendly.

After looking at several sites we went with Shutterfly. I don't like much of anything with Yahoo do to a very bad experience several years ago. I've already uploaded several photos and as soon as I get the captions added I'll post the location. I'm going to take daily photos from the same spot so I can make it into a kind of "movie" later. I drove a metal fence post into the ground to rest the camera on to get the same "spot" to shoot each time. Hope it works!

Aloha Royall & Cathie,
Can't wait to see your project come to life, hope the Shutterfly site works well for, Love the movie idea, with the view as a slideshow selection I'm sure it probably will look really good..

Thanks Dave, I hope it turns out like I planned, the house too! By the way the catalog is in the envelope and will be in the mail tomorrow.
