terracore, not willing to risk retaliation. I've poked enough bears to know not to do that anymore. Interestingly, no trash over last few days. Fingers crossed.

Barely on topic, Carl Hiaasen's book Sick Puppy has a character who retaliates on litter bugs. He borrows a full garbage truck, then dumps the load on the litter bug's, top down, convertible BMW. Yes, it is fiction, but we can all dream.

The police have a program whereas they can send her a strongly worded letter, and you can remain anonymous:
http://www.hawaiipolice.com/contact-us/r...fe-drivers Report Unsafe Drivers If you see a motorist violating one or more traffic laws, we encourage you to report it to our Traffic Services Section. Provide us with the vehicle’s license number, make and color, along with the date, time, location and a description of the violation. The Traffic Services Section will send a letter to the vehicle’s registered owner and convey what was observed. Police will not reveal the identity of the person who made the complaint. Just fill out one of the Community Road Safety Watch forms below and then do one of the following: Mail it to: Hawaii Police Department Traffic Services Section 349 Kapiolani Street Hilo, HI 96720 Drop it off at a police station (Find locations here) Fax it to the Traffic Services Section at (808) 961-2228 Call in the information to the Traffic Services Section at (808) 961-2226 Email the information to the Traffic Services Section at Torey.Keltner@hawaiicounty.gov

I'm a tad skeptical that strongly worded letters are going to make much difference to some of the driving behavior here.

Dear Driver,
We have previously sent you a letter about your bad driving habits which has been reported by Mr. Tom who wishes to remain anonymous. We have now learned that you have used this letter in order to show off your dangerous driving behavior. You are now on notice that if we receive another report of you driving badly or telling your friends how proud you are of driving dangerously, we will send a more strongly worded letter, and may not even say "dear" the next time. We hope there will be no need to contact you again regarding this matter, but if we have to, we reserve the right to charge you for postage. Faithfully, The DMV Strongly Worded Letter Dept. That should do it.

The Trash Lady just crumpled up the strongly worded letter and threw it out her car window toward DTisme's house.
