At the place I used to live in Hawaiian Acres, the guy next door ran a generator every day from 5 to 9:30 in the evening. I don't mean to be harsh, but nobody who runs a generator is a good neighbor.

Generators are only acceptable if you buy 10 acres square and put your Genny in the middle!

My neighbor often runs a generator at night. I can barely hear it. He has a Honda inverter style.

You can make a generator sound the same as a car idling
A quickie is a cheapest car muffler a few feet of flex exhaust pipe an whatever adapter need to hook it up

County inspector there today. No one at the lot but he looked it all over. See what happens. No we did not call.

They have a small generator for their power tools. It is not that bad and wehave fans going anyway that buffers it. The decibels would not be enough for a noise violation. Main ting is the open pit sewer, I have my well 150 ft away. Over time it could be trouble. Not that we have purity. But, seriously.

Seeb: that's a great idea! Do you need sound muffling around the generator too to make it worthwhile, or is a muffler on its own a big improvement?
Jefyuaz: I would not drink well water from HPP without sending it through filtration and UV anyway. L

I would not drink well water from makai HPP wells under any circumstances. Water testing from those wells has already shown that they contain wastewater contaminants from mauka cesspools... You are consuming your mauka neighbors' (slightly processed) medications, contraceptives, laundry products, as well as their "microbiome"....
Wouldn't guarantee that a filtration system will take all those out. |
