Aloha RDH. It really is a solid decision to stay a while and look around before you buy. We have so many different climates here, rainy and moldy to hot sand and sun on the West side, and everything in between. It's worth giving yourself some time to see where you feel comfortable.
You are not limited to the East side because Kaiser has a new Clinic in Kona now, and they have a lot more Specialists and services there than the Hilo site does.
It's really nice Mauka where the Kona Clinic is located.

If you know a realtor who will look up comp values for that area, it might give you an accurate indication of the lot's value.

A realtor can find the sales price of lots in Eden Rock that sold recently, and hopefully if there are one or two similar; size, location, road frontage (paved, unpaved), etc, near your lot you'll get a good idea of the potential selling price.

Our realtor retired years ago. So I did find three others. Thank you all. The estimates need to be in writing so I guess it won't be quick! LOL Oh well.
