Benefit Concert for the Pohoiki Shooter 9/8/2017
#21
This is one of those scenarios where just about everyone is stupid. The guy who started the fight is stupid. The guy who responded to him with gunfire in a crowded park is even more stupid. The people sponsoring the benefit are stupid. I will even go so far as to say the family shouting support in court are stupid for not realizing what a piece of work they have on their hands. But then what else do we expect when dealing with Puna thugs?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the guy who got shot in the head might have been only peripherally involved. Since I don't know for sure, I'll leave him off the stupid list for now.

Personally, I wouldn't donate a penny if I found it in a urinal. If people can't be civil.. get out of civilization.

When they don't, they certainly manage to put the vile in civilization.

The Donner Party really wasn't that great of a party, was it?

I heard a rumor it was a shooting stemmed from a chicken fight/drug/gambling debt between the men. It is hard to find details on exactly what happened. http://westhawaiitoday.com/news/local-ne...not-guilty

That was my plan.

The owner of Lava Shack supports lots of local musicians. It's one of the few venues for musicians in Puna....no people, no bands, no live music.

The story keeps getting more convoluted.
Whom pulled out a gun and started shooting first?
I would think that's key in assigning blame.
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

Well mermaid, I am a musician and I support my other fellow local artists but hosting an event like this, supporting the local shooter is baffling, bizarre, brazen... inexcusable public display of support for a member of our society who put everyone's life in danger around him at Pohoiki. He chose to carry. He chose to fire when keiki are running around and citizens talking story and surfing about the area. Whoever this owner of the Lava Shack is made a horrible decision. Repercussion for his decision to host this is righteous and just.

Not that I know zip about the situation the family is in, but it doesn't look like any of you do either. So why be so mean? Maybe there's a mother and some kids that are suffering greatly because of the deeds of the father/husband. Maybe there are innocent people being chastised by heartlessness and they don't deserve any of it. Maybe there are real human beings in need of assistance. And I'll bet all of you think you are good kind generous people."

I don't care who shot first, I just care who thought it was a great idea to pull out a gun and start firing. Allegedly.
Let them both rot in jail for a long long time.

So did anyone find out how it went and how much cash they got? Just wondering how many people would give cash to criminals in support of their murderous actions.
