Leilanidude - my post does have a number of assumptions, but I just wanted to point out that it is quite feasible to have an awful lot of overflights in one day. Personally, I'm not against the tours, but the noise does bother me, especially as I'm often trying to sleep during the day. I'm just trying to explore alternative ways they could be done but I don't have all the information.
Some time ago, I asked about possibly flying at 3000 feet rather than 1500. That would lower the noise by four times while also being somewhat safer for helicopters if they had an engine failure. I asked about the increased cost of fuel that would require but never got an answer.
MarkD - I think there are plenty of adamant TMT supporters who have a problem with helicopter noise, myself for example. It's a completely different issue and trying to attach labels to people seems rather disingenuous to me.

I appreciate your point, Tom. It was a bit of a stretch. Just observed there is a core group of vocal folks on both topics, and there is considerable overlap. Apparently, though, excluding you.

"The routes are changed on a daily basis"
If that's the case (is it?) then, really, what more do people want? Do they also want no cars to drive in front of their house?

Driving in a car is elitist then too. Why can't people just walk everywhere, like in the good old days? Ban all vehicles!
One of the main attractions of the helicopter is that you can get up close to the flowing lava. Not easy to do that any other way.

Probably elitists, one and all.

It amazes me how much people argue aggressively over nothing on this forum.

Generally agree -- but helicopter noise is probably the most substantive issue we have, even if nothing will ever actually be done about it.

Donny, these men are nihilists
Thanks Kirt,
Nothing starts the work day off right like an apropos quote from The Big Lebowski!
Now, I can get on with a little achieving.
The Donner Party really wasn't that great of a party, was it?
