Members, you voted in a Members Mailbox Committee at the membership meeting, who are being denied their rights to meet in the library for FREE.. The Association pays the office employees salaries, and they are undermining the members business...They all should be fired.
To confirm caveat emptors story, after the committee gained access to the library by saying they wanted to look at the library books, upon returning the library key asked to book the library for next Monday and L Crelly told them the board had to APPROVE THEIR REQUEST. The other office girl who does our collections, rallied L Crelly on, so there were 2 office girls undermining a membership committee.
Apparently L Crelly, either STILL doesn't know her bylaws, after being former Dist5 board rep (who filled a board vacancy after Maynard resigned) and having been on the Bylaw Committee for a few months, OR is being a major obstructionist (typical MO in HPP and on PT). FYI, L Crelly, read your bylaws. The board does NOT vet or approve committees that the membership voted for. The "acts of the membership" STANDS as was voted by the members at a membership meeting. NO BOARD APPROVAL.
As caveat emptor said, WE NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE in a major way. What is going on here is SO WRONG, and these employees are getting away with undermining the association. We have employees who think they run HPP. SO WRONG.
From what I understood, the Members Mailbox Committee left the office calmly saying "have a nice day".
Please support the Members' Mailbox Committee. They are working FOR YOU and have no other agenda than that.
And please attend the Board's Mailbox Committee meeting Thur from 1-3 and find out how R Mizuba and P Murdoch are going to remedy the land issue they have....can't accept FREE mailboxes if there's NO LAND to install them on, and better not spend OUR $100,000 on their mailbox project. Our main drags need to be re-striped and reflectors installed, and there's the $$$ they can use to get it done.

"You can't use your drivers license for ID at the airport unless it is delivered to your street address."
"Obie - would you please point to that specific piece of information rather than having everyone search around for it on that site? Thanks."
Sorry it took so long Tom.They changed the rules and now they can be mailed to a PO box.My wife had her license returned to the DMV in Hilo because it had a PO box address.
Our neighborhood had PO box addresses at one time, We still have the same mailboxes but now we can only get official mail if it is addressed to our street address.

So why do we need mailboxes? Who's obstructing who?
Looks to me like people just want to do things right.

Reminder...BOARD Mailbox Committee meeting today from 1-3 in the library. There's been discrepancies w/the information coming from the board reps on this committee, even to their own committee members and the former pres L Laucik (who attended previous mailbox committee meetings as ex officio). The GM and Dist2 R Mizuba met w/the Honolulu post master. R Mizuba told the other committee members who were excluded from that meeting that "it was a done deal, they're taking over." This statement alone sounds like alternate facts. Find out once and for all what these reps intentions are using OUR money. They are well aware of the deed restricted land and the potential liability attached if they proceed. Please attend and ask questions.

Of all the possible "liability issues" in HPP, this would be the most productive.
That is, if anyone is willing to take a stand.

BOARD Mailbox Committee Meeting 8 Mar 2018
Appears Dist2 R Mizuba put the cart before the horse AGAIN. She has nothing in writing from USPS. Someone read the deed to her and the potential liability to the Association was discussed. She said she's going to take it to the board but seems Dist2 R Mizuba has amnesia. As I stated in another post, this was already discussed in great length in the fall of 2017 at a board meeting when L Laucik was the former president. The conclusion was that R Mizuba couldn't proceed using deed restricted land. She WON'T take NO for an answer and because the board power has flipped, she thinks that changes the deed.
That's what you call willful misconduct, abuse of power and insubordination. Her term is ending in June. It's OUR money at stake. The membership already voted NO last year to mailboxes after the 10% hike in road fees and the neglected roads and easements = lack of confidence in conducting business properly w/the mailboxes. Remember her name in case it ends up on the ballot for Dist 2 election.

It would be helpful to include the first names of these reps when they're mentioned. Not sure why the initials. This is one of those abbreviation things that I believe TomK was talking about that makes it confusing. Mahalo!

Aloha DTisme....this has
nothing to do w/what Tom was referring to.
Someone came on after my post a few months or more ago, sounding an alarm to Rob, that naming names wasn't allowed. Next thing I knew I was grounded.
I've used first initial and last name and so far so good.
I thought the first initial and last name would've been sufficient for ID purposes on a district ballot..
You can look up Dist2 rep's full name on the HPP website, link below:

Thanks for explaining. Makes no sense not to be able to use full names, esp when just reporting who said/did what.

Update:
New information has come to light....first of all the Members Mailbox Committee isn't being recognized by the board as a valid committee even though an overwhelming number of members voted to form this committee at the Feb 2018 Membership meeting. As a result, they are still being denied the right to be put on the HPP calendar for scheduled meetings which denies the opportunity for members to know when their meetings are and attend. The board also won't post their minutes. Meanwhile, the Board Mailbox Committee aren't posting their minutes for transparency.
Last year when the BOARD Mailbox Committee and the board in power at that time had a backfire after trying to assess the membership $150 per mailbox, and be assessed a late fee if not paid by I believe April 2017, misled the membership. A member called the USPS after the blunder and was told by the postmaster that the mailboxes were always going to be free. This is where red flags start going off.
If the USPS said they never said they were going to charge us for mailboxes, then what was that last year that came in our road fee billings?
According to Ruth Mizuba, the BOARD Mailbox chair, it's a done deal...an attorney said they can use the deed restricted land as long as their's no residential structure. That's NOT what the deed states. I asked Ruth Mizuba to post the attorney letter on HPP's website at the March 2018 board meeting. She nodded her head that it would get posted....nothing to date.
Something's very wrong w/this whole picture. Time to ask the board some hard questions.
