What is the "normal", background level of theft? If the claims are that nothing is happening now then you know that must be inacurate since why would crooks stop their normal activity? Tented houses sometimes get broken into.

The nixle reports during the non huricane showed elevated burglaries but didnt reallly show the total amount as alot of peps didnot report crimes, unofficially there were

Didn't they do something like that during and just after Iselle? How well did that work out?

It's one of those unquantifiable actions.
Does the average thief say, "better not, it's a felony now." Probably not. The below average thief? Definitely not.
If and when they do get caught though, a few people might feel better that they're charged with a felony.
