Uber or Lyft from Kona Airport?

I am trying to get a Lyft from KOA to Alii Dr. to catch the bus to Hilo. When I use the Lyft app, it says KOA is "not available". Anyone know about this or used it? I posted a classified here looking for someone going round trip to Kona on May 30, to pick me up for gas $, but no takers. Speedieshuttle & Taxi are out of my price range. Can't wait to get home!

Believe Uber/Lyft were "allowed to operate" so long as they did not pick up fares from the airport.

I've taken Uber from K-Mart to KOA for around $20 w/ tip. It does feel wrong, paying $2 for the 3 hour bus ride around the island, and $20 for the last 10 minutes...

You have to walk to the hwy from the airport to have uber or lyft pick you up. They can drop off at the airport...but they can't pick up. And yea the bus does go to the airport in Kona but its once a day in the morning

Thanks all for the feedback. I wish there were a Hilo/KOA ride co-op, so many people work there & do Costco trips. Flights are direct & sometimes $100 less than flying into Hilo. I may have to walk to the Highway, but got luggage, so cumbersome.

Taxi is $3 plus 40 cents per minute or 1/8 mile. Yikes! $35 minimum

Well, I "assumed" a rental car would have that huge one way drop off charge, but checked & it's only $36. Thanks leilanidude. So problem solved. Arriving early, so can hit the beach & Costco & leisurely drive home. Rental agent said if you rent from an airport to another airport you can avoid the extra drop fee. Good to know.
