I saw one outside this weekend which was unusually large and misshapen, or tumorous, if that's possible. Another first...

They’re out campaigning for the election in two months.

I haven’t seen any all year until this past week I saw two 747’s taxiing on my kitchen floor. Must be from 4’ of rain last week?

The misshapen ones are swollen and ready for milking.

You are on to something there 8 fingahs. Usually if you see one during the day, it's already on it's way out the door as the others in the nest have shunned them either from overcrowding or it has ingested the poison bait.
BTW, like your moniker, get the "joke".

It's been cockroach "bloom" season for about 2 months now.

Advion roach gel bait. For each roach that comes in contact with it, 54 other roaches die. Because roaches are cannibals, and it continues killing for several generations after the ones who ate or contacted it. And it's slow acting so the roaches return to the colony to die to be consumed by the next generation of victims of this effective poison.

My daughter moved into an apartment in Honolulu that has a regular spray schedule, but it was one apartment among a neighborhood of apartments, and so shortly after the spray new ones would just move in. I sent her a tube of this stuff and it solved her roach problem where the professional pest control companies failed. I don't think they really want to solve the problem, better to "control" it and keep the contracts of returning often to spray. A little tiny bit of this stuff goes a long way. I bought this four pack on Amazon over two years ago and am still on the first tube-

ETA: It does have to be applied correctly to be effective. Here's a video (less is more):
