Yeah, the actual cases and deaths tolls might be right, but the we'll never see those confirmed numbers as Hawaii can only test 20 people a day currently (40 in an emergency).

So Italy has locked down 16M people (like china) but this is after they have so many deaths and so many infections.
Knowing the track record of what this infection does to a country it seems that proactive instead of reactive response should be made. Just think of how many needless deaths could be spared if hawaii were to do the lockdown thing on the first sign of infection in an area.
And thats the problem, people would certainly complain that its just the flu.. nobody is going to die and its life as normal. Until its not normal. then everyone complains that enough was not done.
You cant please them all but you can try to save lives right?

Just to continue the Italy comparison, there is now triage directives being proposed that individuals over a certain age will not be allowed in ICU as they need to prioritize resources towards those with a better chance of survival.

China and Italy have 2 things in common, they get their fresh food from open markets and they are touchy feely with the food before they buy it. In Wuhan the raw unwrapped meat is handled and squeezed over and over until purchased. They have a way of deciding if the meat is tender if it bounces back or not when squeezed.
Something to avoid doing, lol.
