You all know of course that this and all the other HPP threads are like that awful car wreck we know we should hurry past, but just have to slow down and look at anyway. If I've learned anything from all this it's that the key participants on both sides are vindictive, stubborn, unreasonable, and at times even irrational. I foolishly thought that the pandemic might actually shift your interest to something less crazy, but I should have known better. Most of you don't really care about anything but getting your way.
The system is broken, and the courts probably won't fix it. Meanwhile, my road is being decently maintained as are others I've driven lately. A friend two roads over called the office the other day, and they arranged for an animal carcass and a junk car to be removed within 24 hours. I've called the office myself to ask some questions, and I was treated cheerfully and respectfully. At some point results matter most.

If you think it’s bad now during the pandemic, think how bad it’s going to be after it’s over!

Chunkster I couldn’t agree more your entire statement is on point !
I take responsibility in my part of the bitter childish battle and realize none of it really matters and sincerely was approaching the subject respectfully only asking for information of what I find important. I’m not trying to start an argument only asking for a director’s action on paying road dues. I also have a decently maintained road and it seems the business is doing what needs to be done board or no board pandemic or not.

Okay. HEre is a short speech from me with some strong hints on how I think people should proceed on and HP thread or topic...
1. I consider the whole topic off HPP on Punaweb to be a troll farm. If HPP wasn't in Puna I would ban the topic. But it is and I personally think anyone actually thnking of owning property there deserves to be aware of what they are getting into.
2. Members can ask all the questions they want but need to know that no one is required to reply. If you don't like someone's posts then simply ignore them. Ignoring them is okay.
3. I will insist on people being respectful of everyone including those they disagree with.
4. People are asking me to shut members off. I am reluctant to take sides in that manner and will instead look to violations of our terms here on Punaweb.

I have to say that a majority of your posts perpetuate pessimist propaganda. Through my observations the roads in HPP aren't being maintained to the level they used to be. The previous general manager and road crew did a better job. When was the last board of director meeting you attended, if any? How many HPPOA lot owners are there? There's the problem right there! I have no beef with you Chunkster but that attitude leaves no room to complain if you're uninvolved. At least a couple of directors tried to get the road fees deferred. My hats off to them.

Rob, there is close to 20 Thousand ( watch the next census) living in HPP without basic representation or control on the things effecting their lives. A quarter of the population of Puna. The dozen or so people that go round and round block out the little voice the residents have. A most of any kind of bulletin boards or Facebook pages about HPP are real estate agent sock puppets. What do the people that live here do to improve life for themselves and their kids.

Thank you, leo, for proving Rob Tucker's point about this thread being a troll farm. I have attended dozens of HPP meetings, and most were worthless.
Buh-bye!

Likewise Chunkster. You have a good rest of the day. The day is young.
