Wuhan Corona Virus Coming Soon? (Now Here)
And now they've discovered that 2 people in California died from covid 19 in February - the first being February 6th and from community spread. I suspect that there will be more autopsies now on people who may not have really died from the flu over the past 5 or 6 months, but of the then not-known covid 19. Since it takes an average of 2 to 3 weeks to contract and die from it, that means it was circulating in the population of California way back in mid-January (at the very least). Which of course means that it could have been circulating in Hawaii for the past few months too because of air travel. jmo

Hi Kenney, thank for your reply and thank you so much for what you have done to help us all during this time. One thing I think we've all learned during this situation is how dedicated our medical staff are and the sacrifices they have been making. I wish there was more we could do to help them and show our appreciation.

On the downside, my partner Pam (beepbeep) passed away due to Lupus just before Christmas. I remember you wrote such a nice post on PW for her a few years back when she started going downhill and both of us really appreciated it. You probably don't remember, but I do. That also reminds me of how wonderful and caring all our health workers are. Thank you again.

Yesterday, while winging it on the live nationally televised COVID-19 press conference, a man who isn’t a doctor suggested the following:

“Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light. And I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but we’re going to test it?” And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, either through the skin or some other way.”

“And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it* out in a minute — one minute — and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning?” Because you see it* gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”

It should be noted that public health officials and manufacturers of cleaning products (including Lysol & Tide Pods) have all rapidly scrambled in response, and in press releases warned against using these products internally in any manner whatsoever.

If you already were aware never to ingest or inject cleaning products to kill viruses in the human body, as most everyone on Punaweb likely knows, then you’re smarter than the average bear. Even the State of Hawaii, lacking as it has been in part of their response, has yet to propose anything that will outright kill you.

Hey, brainstorming is admirable, just not something you should be doing as the leader of the free world on live television when people are desperate and looking for answers. Maybe there is a compound that could be applied to the lungs periodically to reduce viral load or clear the airways. Just pretty sure it's not bleach!

In the other direction, it kind of bums me out when people suggest taking vitamin D or Zinc or other traditional cold remedies and CDC/people just blurt "there is no proven cure for Covid-19!" Just because it's not proven doesn't mean it's not worth trying (if it's already been used safely for decades for other things). We need to be working together and trying everything we can at this point to find some kind of a solution before we come out of our lock-downs with nothing but a few months delay.

Actually, the English, Welsh, and Scottish Public Health Agencies have recommended Vitamin D supplements during the pandemic mainly because so many people are not going outdoors. It is a standard recommendation during the winter months in the UK, but they extended it for the lockdown. You can read about it here:

In Hawaii, most of us can get some time in the sun even now, but it's interesting to see science based recognition that Vitamin D is useful in the pandemic context.

brainstorming is admirable

Yes it is.
If it’s actual brainstorming.
But not if it’s baseless rambling which contradicts and counteracts years of effort by parents, Mr Yuck stickers, and specially designed manufacturer’s safety caps so humans would not consume these products internally. Makes you want to brainstorm about whether the lack of this basic knowledge might explain Eric?

Sulu has the plan to get the US's Enterprise out of this jam (he'd pass the Kobayashi Maru with flying colors)

Joe: I just told Donald about the Tide Pod challenge.
Barack: You what?
Joe: Yeah. Told him it would stop Covid-19 dead.
Barack: Joe—
Joe: And I said you'd done it, no sweat. Now we wait.

Well I have to admit the original press briefing proposal boldly goes were no man has gone before.

is that once again someone else's ideas?
...
**** that he was told an hour earlier.

Who would have suggested such a thing? Do you have a source or a name? From what I read, everyone on stage said it's not a feasible, realistic proposal.

So when he says that they are testing it. does that mean he suggested it and brainstorming it or is that once again someone else's ideas?

It does make a fascinating story to call it brainstorming on live tv. but it didn't seem to me he wasn't brainstorming just spouting off random **** that he was told an hour earlier.

Sometimes its best to actually watch those briefings. It allows you to draw your own conclusions instead of someone telling you.
I end up watching cspan a lot anymore, things go pretty fast and life is too short to be informed with 10 second sound bytes.
