Signup started today at the USPS site but if you live here, it’s iffy. You must have a residential address that USPS delivers to. That leaves out OLE or HPP unless you have a mailbox. They will deliver to a PO box but not general delivery. They will not deliver to a business address so no UPS store or Mail and Ship boxes. If you send it to a friend’s address, the friend will be out of luck, as it’s one to an address.

So. The lines at the post office will be even longer and the mail will be even slower….

And soon, free face masks:

How can I get free face masks?

The Biden administration will soon be distributing 400 million N95 masks from the Strategic National Stockpile.
Americans will be able to pick up free N95 masks from various pharmacies and community health centers. The program will be “fully up and running by early February,” a White House official said, and each person will be limited to 3.
Well-fitting N95 masks give the best protection against the spread of Covid-19compared to other masks, such as KN95 masks, disposable surgical masks and cloth masks, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Which raises the question of why, with 400M masks on hand, did they wait until now to distribute them? By the time they get to us, the omicron virus will just be a distant memory, right? RIGHT??!!
Certainty will be the death of us.
