Kai Kahele recently questioned Gov. Ige's response to COVID, and even suggested his own 10 point program on how he could handle the pandemic better. Is he considering a run for governor? It certainly sounds like it:

Kai Kahele, our representative in the US House of Representatives has not been to Washington DC this year. So he can keep his job as an airline pilot for Hawaiian Airlines. And run for governor.

At least heʻs voting. But what heʻs missing is the in-person shmoozing, valuable for getting information and making allies in Congress. If he were serious about his legislative career, I doubt heʻd continue to live here.
