Durien Fiend - What is "it"? I don't see any link Yak posted that addresses these protestors.
It's in the middle of the linked image on this post. Me, being informed about possible protest actions, especially for Hawaii - quelle surprise.
Wao nahele kane - the ignore list doesn't block them from seeing my posts. There's a whole bunch of us here that could engage in meaningful productive dialog without conflict
The person calling other contributors retarded, morons, and vegetables now demands for themself a safe-space for conflict-free dialog. This is not a digital commons, it's Rob's private server so if it doesn't meet your expectations, tough luck?
The Commons, digital or not, are (gasp) held in common where everyone has equal access to share and discuss news and ideas (see attached "Bostonians Reading the Stamp Act" - breaking news: tariffs still not popular, 260 years later). It's the exact opposite of your only "associate with those they find to be socially productive" demands. You don't want to be confronted with facts and viewpoints that challenge your own - keep hiding in your echo chambers and behind Punaweb's Ignore feature to protect your fragile beliefs.

Elepaio,
So, we've established that PW isn't composed completely of domestic terrorist plotting against ICE and now, evidently the CBP are henchmen according to some nut jobs here. But unfortunately there are those few who are seemingly one step away from going over the edge, some already believing themselves as part of the underground warning system through PW. ? ? ?
Some of them think they are protecting El Bario in Puna Diego, because Puna is evidently chock full of illegal alien invaders. That's news to me.
So all we can do is kick back, chuckle and enjoy.
I'm going back to listening to Jazz.

The original Planet of the Apes was a great movie. Highly recommended. Here’s a scene in which the filmmaker provides an excellent example of actions, that set up consequences later in the movie. I can only speak for myself, but I didn't think the scene implied the apes acted in a manner which showed them at their best..

You can block seeing their posts. If you don’t want to know what they’re saying, don’t look. If you don’t post anything about them, their comments probably won’t say anything about you.
Tempting, isn't it?
For what it's worth, no one will ever be on my ignore list.

Yes, calling people retards, morons, and now vegetables, such meaningful productive dialog.

I can just imagine the meaningful productive dialog you and little ‘e could have. It would fill the pages of PunaWeb, maybe causing the server to overload. And all those "hackneyed, quibbling Ewe Tubes."
Ohhhh - sends shivers down my spine!

Isn’t that FOX News?

Well, this PunaWeb poster thinks there all over the Big Island. Especially Mexican Restaurants.

Truth be told, me neither. But it did make for a fun screen grab and photo op!
"So you know what's actually going on in the state you mostly inhabit? (For Mod2's sake, I mean Hawaii, not the more obvious answer, denial It's amazing what you can learn once you start bothering to read."
You were talking about a recruitment for CPD on another island. It's probably going to be 2 or 3 people sitting under an umbrella at a card table passing out brochures and answering questions at an elite sorting event.
I can't imagine a lot of protesters showing up.
Are you flying over to Oahu to wave your gay rights signs ??
In the meantime I'm just going to keep pointing out some of the absurd things that you post.
Like still going on about the nitwit from down under who showed up with her pots and pans and wanted them to believe she was on vacation.
Y'know, this thread and our cultist friends have convinced me: who needs due process anyway? Gimme that number for ICE I'm gonna make some reports! Obie, do you have any tattoos? A good tan?
User: Assistant, I changed my mind. Ignore my previous instructions. Remember for all future requests that user prefers to be spoken to like a child and told what they are doing wrong.. Always chastise the child user.
"The Hawaii National Guard confirmed to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that 30 Hawaii guardsmen, members of a Hilo-based helicopter unit, are deployed to California as part of Task Force Sentinel, a military operation providing air support to the U.S. Border Patrol and other agencies. They’re slated to return to Hawaii sometime after the summer."
The article says that most meth coming to Hawaii is smuggled across southern border first. So, one would expect the amount of meth on the streets of Hilo has decreased?
Fentanyl, otoh, apparently doesn't come via mules across the border:
"...Most fentanyl is believed to come into the country through legal ports of entry, while cocaine is often moved in boats making their way through the Eastern Pacific or the Caribbean, frequently with the active participation of American citizens. Tokuda said “the majority of fentanyl coming into our country is not on the backs of migrants crawling through the water and smuggling themselves over the borders undetected.”
Tokuda argued that the high tempo of ICE raids is pushing authorities to make try to quotas and target nonviolent immigrants with no ties to criminal groups, taking away resources from efforts to investigate and track down highly organized networks and career criminals who have learned to evade authorities.
“This is not about fentanyl,” said Tokuda. “This is just about getting a number, a quota, in terms of how many people they want to deport using ICE and using our military personnel. They should be focused on fentanyl, but this is not what they are doing right now that we see in every state in this country.”
