Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Hawaii
MarkD - Apes are generally smarter than we give them credit for.
Maybe the GOP will put him on the ballot next as he appears to be about as qualified as the current paunchy orange simian that spends much of their time in a golf cart.

Kane - but unfortunately there are those few who are seemingly one step away from going over the edge
You reject "crazy" people posting links to apnews, but connect with the anti-vax conspiracy nut over a shared sense of reality... May your beliefs and world view remain as off-beat and improvisational as Dizzy.

Edge - I didn't think the scene implied the apes acted in a manner which showed them at their best.
It's definitely an oddity, proudly showing off one's commitment to ignorance. Like instead of a summer book list, a list instead of all the things they did not read, while at a local beach like Richardson's or otherwise. Should funding ever be available again, sociologists are going to have a field day with this whole q-anon / ear bandages / cult of conspicuous stupidity. Speaking of which...

Obie - You were talking about a recruitment for CPD on another island.
Thanks for explaining to me what I was talking about - glad you caught up in the end, even if you'd be at the bottom of the "elite sorting event" with "CPD" recruitment. But still no defense for how Hawaii is improving under your chosen representative? Just a reiteration to your commitment that people should be subject to arbitrary and undefined rules and strip and cavity searched and placed in federal prison? That's what you support and think makes Hawaii better? I'm sure CBP or ICE would love to hear that on your application form - get you the extra shiny boots and primo tactical neck gaiter and a chance to strip search and detain those random young lady tourists and migrant farm workers yourself instead of just reading about it. Waialua is a few days away - live your dream Obie!

...Most fentanyl is believed to come into the country through legal ports of entry, while cocaine is often moved in boats

I imported products from overseas during the ‘90’s & ‘00’s. Often enough the boxes would arrive at Maui Customs with holes punched through them. At one point when the contents were seriously damaged I asked them what caused this? The agent explained the quantity of drugs entering the US through traditional shipping methods was so great, their method of inspection was to stack boxes in a warehouse. The lead worker walked ahead with a hammer and rebar. He pounded holes into random boxes, occasionally punching through illegally packed bags of drugs. Another inspector followed with a sniffer dog that would alert them to the presence of drugs.

If the government really wanted to get rid of the largest number of drug importers they know where to look, and it’s not a guy from Mexico with a backpack.

Yep Mr. Kane .. And they get plenty time to rant post here. Quality entertainment with a local ( knowing these people live amongst us ) twist.

I don't want nobody to give me nothing.
A superbly recorded session.

Oh yes, I see the "meaningful productive dialog" has begun.

Since you are bringing up Nazis, you must not have anything else to stay. In fact you keep spewing out worthless information.
Check back here when you have something new to add.

Well, it's important for a democratic free society to keep an eye out for Nazis, NatCs, Fascists, and other forms of authoritarianism. As Hamilton said - "History will teach us…those men who have overturned the liberties of republics the greatest number have begun their career, by paying an obsequious court to the people, commencing Demagogues and ending Tyrants."

Rich of you to demand yet more info while repeatedly demonstrating you don't bother to look at what's already provided, but as for new stuff on this topic for others more inclined towards learning, Senator Brian Schatz spoke in Waimea last night about the challenges facing Hawaii and was asked by Aloha Latinos about how to address the ICE raids. Best to hear his response directly, but it's not to adopt Obie's preferred posture of bending over and burying one's head in the sand. Quills up!

Gee, Obie, I suppose you're blessed not to have ancestors that lived through the Warsaw Ghetto only to be carted off to perish in the Treblika killing center. How fortunate that you weren't raised with every family get together being a slough through the old stories of how your great grandparents were incinerated. Lucky you.

Some of us weren't so lucky. Some of us remember.. it's in our genes. Your insensitivity is, from our perspective, inhumane. But hey, how would you know? You were spared.. gee for all we know your ancestors were on the other side.

And now, today, with the news as it is.. we remember.. graphically. So please.. have a heart brah.

Sorry but I'm not the one who brought this up. Save your lecture for ironyak.

All of my ancestors are Germans who escaped Germany in the late 1700's and early 1800's.

My Greatgrand parents on my Dad's side of the family were born in Wheeling Virginia. It wasn't West Virginia yet because they were born before the civil war. I was lucky enough to meet both of them.
I'm as incensed about Yak's post too
There's no place for that.

Not everyone agrees on whether there are similarities between name brand Nazi actions and small n nazi practices, which then gets lost in the weeds of WWII, intentionally or otherwise.  Best to consider another way to make your point if possible.  Belief systems may not recognize the boundaries of time, but on Punaweb they are demarcated by Puna and Hawaii.

Tell ironyak to back off and leave out his references to brownshirts etc.

I have known people who survived and seen the tattoos on their arms.
