Leaves only one real explanation for Kiko's deviation - THEY have improved on the geo-engineering that Opihikaobob
I have to agree, that is the only explanation.
I would like to make the following offer. An all expenses paid trip to Vegas for anyone who correctly predicts the path, wind speeds and rainfall for hurricanes and tropical storms affecting Hawaii for the rest of the season.
In Vegas you place your bets, and I get to match them. I’ll throw in a couple of shows, no magicians.

Okay, Iʻm in. Iʻll predict no more hurricanes or tropical storms headed to Hawaii for the rest of the season. Meaning, three days or less, the storm will not be taking aim at us. But can I trade Vegas for Fiji?
Certainty will be the death of us.

Without that effect, Kiko could have hit us as a weak hurricane or strong tropical storm, despite the cooler water temperatures near the islands.
Not enough rain! Perhaps more will be coming.
But that analysis assumes the storm wouldn't have changed its intensity if it had taken a different track.

True, but given that it encountered the weakening effect of wind shear by heading in a more northerly path, seems to me its intensity along a more southerly track would have been stronger for longer. Wind shear was always considered to be a more important factor than the slightly cooler ocean temperatures near our longitude

Real mystery-of-the-ages stuff with which you alone seem to be struggling. Add the image below to your homework and go spend some time puzzling and puzzling 'till your puzzler is sore and let us know what you figure out.

Add the image below
I know! I know!
The first image (when completed) is a hurricane cloud entering cooler waters.
The second is arrival time to our location.
The third, a new symbol for cat 3, cat 4, cat 5?

Can you cite a source for that? Who considered it a more important factor, and did they consider different tracks when coming to that conclusion?
PS. Ironyak, you ought to feel embarrassed by your latest post.

This thread sucks. Fingers crossed we won't need it the rest of the year!
