Maybe a deep dive in to.. a thorough examination of.. what the saying 'don't bite the hand that feeds you' means is in order. You never know 'e, maybe you'll learn something.

Better yet.. methinks you'd be way happier with your own forum. I mean, come on man, blow this popsicle stand off and go create your own. Seriously 'e, you're unhappy here, so why are you still hanging around? Instead of bitching about past transgressions.. and the folks that have left for various reasons.. why not create a new watering hole where all the disgruntled vacationed PW wannabes can go to commiserate their banishments?

There was an alternative forum made for those who didn't like PW. I forgot the name, but it was pretty successful for a few months. I even took some of them up on a tour of the Mauna Kea Observatories (something I offered here decades ago, which was never taken up). Then the lunatics took over, and the site quickly devolved into someone posting pornographic cartoons and getting people wound up in an attempt to intimidate a particular person.

I doubt 'elepaio has the ability to set up a new forum, nor have anyone join to make it worthwhile.

Setting up a forum isn’t anymore than the click of a few buttons anymore. At least for someone with a hosting account and a domain to park it in. And then, of course, the admins would still need to tweak it to their desires, but it ain't rocket science. 

I don’t know about other server farms but the one I use has cPanel as the user’s front end and from there I have the choice of several forum packages, and can install any of them without all the humbug of permissions and such we used to go through. No more perl, Unix, no more command line, it’s all WYSIWYG any more. So, assuming that’s how the world goes ‘round I would expect ‘e could have a forum up and running in no time. He might be out a few hundred bucks to get it started but from there just pay the hosting and domain fees and he’d be cruzin’

I’d love to see a site set up by ‘e, someone, anyone, catering to all the things he wishes PW would offer and doesn’t. It could be political.. he could have discussions about all the national issues that don’t happen here.. it could be MAGA this and that until the cows come home. He could dis vaccines, and go on about face diapers.. and make all kine noise. He could ban the moniker Orange Moron and the low life libtards that would say such a blasphemous thing.

Gee, if ‘e wanted, I’d be happy to help him get started.. 

How he’d get it to be the popular watering hole that he would hope? I suspect he’d find a way.. talk story.. spread da word. Of course his flavor is an acquired taste. Unique as his pidgin. But being a local watering hole without advertising, cookies, and having to trade your soul as it is with zuckerf*cker’s site.. he could pick up all the big island disgruntles.. get his own big island thieves thing going.. rally around his fav MMA has been.. and all the other niches laying around. I am sure Barney would love it there. Be a real hit. Post a gazillion times a day.. got in on the ground floor.. have admin status. And just think of the HPP road squabbles..

As to George.. I’ve always figured he was on par with Ringo.. musicians that don’t stand on, would never had made it on their own but rather are who they are because of an association with others. It’s like Bob Weir and Phil Lesh.. without Jerry they’d never have amounted to anymore than wannabes.. but man they were great as long as Jerry was fronting for them. Bob’s Weather Report Suite is awesome, a masterpiece, but I doubt he’d have gotten there had he not been carried along by the captain of the ship. And yeah, Phil, arguably was one of the best bass players ever.. and still. In other words it was John and Paul.. and the other guys were just in-house backing musicians.. who on their own make schmaltzy elevator muzak.

I believe George's highest non Beatles accomplishment, in addition to his solo works, was the Traveling Wilburys.

Along with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and of course Bob Dylan, it was truly the best "Supergroup" ever formed.
