Just more proof the guy ain't got a scientific bone in his body. 'Tis a shame the IFA allows him to carry on the way he does..

I really don't think you should bring in the employers of PW members into any discussion here. That's crossing a line.

But demanding a PW member who is a lawyer provide lists of legal cases that contain names of confidential clients/defendants on a public forum discussion here, of which you once said YOU would not want a lawyer doing that who represented YOU, is okie dokey?

There seems to be quite a double standard depending on which side of the fence YOU are on here.

Court cases in the US are public and not secret. You can even go and visit a court on any workday and sit in to watch if you want. The lawyers and their clients are already public information. The discussions between a client and a lawyer are certainly not available to the public, nor should they be. But I wasn't asking for privileged information.

In what world are discussions between a lawyer and a client public information? (I see you did edit and correct you original post)

Further, in matters of copyright/IP law, as I have said previously as well as repeatedly, rarely (less than 1/2 of 1 percent) land in open court with any lawsuit ever filed. Those remaining 99.5% of any disputed case are mediated, negotiated or dropped.

Additionally, copyright/IP legal matters are typically closed to public scrutiny due to trade secret matters.

That's just BS Tom. You, not me, wave your employer around like it's proof of your superiority. You even use a state tax payer funded building as your avatar. You, not me, bring up your employer repeatedly. In other words you ask for all you get.

If you don't want to be associated with your employer stop wasting our time waving them around here.

As to Jules points about IP law.. I just, last week, passed the two year mark in dealing with the attorneys on a patent application that at this point is in its third draft and well beyond 100 pages long. Before I even started the process I took federal government sponsored classes in IP law, and as little as I know, and have experienced, I can say, beyond a doubt, you know nothing. You're just swinging at shadows in the dark. Again, trying to sound superior by browbeating others.

If you were smart, regarding both these points, you'd just shut up already.

I have never, not even once, said who my employer is anywhere on PW.

Humans arguing with each other is one definition of bickering. However, wouldn't it be curious if one of us was . . . a Bot? Maybe even two or more? Google published a paper about expert machines using debate to hone their solutions to a question or problem.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QH7yANEBdJQ

However, when the debate becomes personal, that's when we should end it. My sister is a JD who specializes in IP. I believe that what Julie states is correct. Lawyers want to avoid court costs. It leads to losing reputation. Last time I argued with her, she found an inconsistency in an earlier post, and that was embarrassing. Now, I did look over some of Tom's list of papers, and he seems to be a real PhD. It may take a "fair witness" to resolve this silly debate. That might be the outcome of ChatGPT 10.0, but y'all are free to run pages of this thread through Gemini, or other AI engines. But, prove yourself by telling me what a "fair witness" is without using a google search.

You're losing it Tom.

I mean, seriously, why do you need to quote and then post screenshots of and do it repeatedly? Are you really that insecure? That upset that your fairytale nonsense is getting a little too much light for your comfort that now you're bombing PW with redundancies on top of redundancies...

And your hate filled interpretations are a true testament to your insanity. Really, they are infantile. As I said, you're losing it brah.

Anyways.. find someone else to suck on your boorish nonsense.. I'm done.

Because you continually edit and delete your posts to make it look as though you didn't post what you did. You have also posted under various usernames. You can't be trusted. You don't stand behind your own words; you just pretend you never wrote them, and all your previous deleted accounts show you just shut up shop when things look bad for you and reappear as someone else.
