I promise to never attack you when you are 100% correct. Further, I don't care about who wins. I only care about what is right, just, proper and decent. Humanity is not a football game.

I'd love to hear what YOUR plan, even maybe concepts of YOUR plan, as to how we better those "poor" without giving them more, but instead taking away? How do you propose we better themselves?

Maybe because adopting the opinion equivalent to someone saying that "since a Hawaiian man robbed a 7-11, ALL Hawaiian men rob 7-11's" as your basis of waste, fraud and abuse, no one can ever understand you?

Bananas were free (they grow like weeds in Hawaii) and I doubt we used $1.00 of rice but lets call it $2.00 just to satisfy the critics. We performatively spritzed it with Braggs Apple Cider Vingar - let's just round that up to $1.00.
Total cost for breakfast for three < $3.00.
What did you guys have?
I am wondering what kind of result one would get if one did a reverse image search and a really deep dive of your claimed delicious breakfast and just what kind of results such a search would yield?
Just can't stop can you Tangy???

Edge - aiming more toward Sosan
Not sure how to reconcile any material analysis with Zen/Taoism, which always seemed like a good philosophy for the individual to find peace with the nature of things, but not a great system for determining how best to actually improve things for everyone. However, I remain open to any koans that point to the deep meaning of The Way. (maybe some future bonsais will have some answers - periodic free Puna Bonsai Ohana events happening at ASC/HAAS :)
HJ - I promise to never attack you when you are 100% correct.
I second that, upon my honor as an ultra-leftie (What again do I need to do to qualify as an ultra-leftie? Expect the constitution to be followed? Be at least somewhat concerned about people being gunned down by agents of the government? Maybe offer a block of tofu to the Yas Queen of Antifa? These made up terms are so hard to track, so not sure if I'm included or not - care to actually define leilanidude what you're calling other Punaweb participants?)
Tang - Sounds like a great Puna breakfast for > $2.00 - adding it to the cookbook!
What's the title of the cookbook going to be - Oh Imagine the Things You Can Make When Your Food is Free? Hopefully it begins with plans to build a time machine to go back several years and plant and tend all the trees and shrubs needed for the local fruits in that affordable smoothie for tomorrow's breakfast. Or maybe the book could open with the forms needed to apply for SNAP benefits in Hawaii so that people can afford to make the included meals? If so, then right on brother, unexpected allyship, protein power smoothies to the people! (I'll submit my on-theme recipe for gruel - take most any available grain, boil with water. Cheap, flexible, and widely available - tends to have people asking for more!)
Tang - PS: someone is using some weird AI. I typed in "Tang" and got breakfast drink (less than $1.00 per serving)- and of course the dynasty. No snakes. Go figgah
Hmm, I would have figured that 37 years after the invention of the world wide web, people would understand that words that are underlined and/or in a different color (like this) act a link that you can click on to get more information without any searching at all. Of course, this requires the individual to actually be interested in reading or learning anything instead of choosing to be a trollish nitwit that constantly blames others for their own lazy dip ****tary, so YMMV.

Good catch, but are you even surprised? Brain rot all the way down...

Chill on the Anger Mismanagement TV, the bullying, the sad foul language, and the conspiracy theories guys. Take a deep breath. Make yourself some almost free avocado toast. So much to be grateful for.

Not surprised in the least.
The brain rot can also explain the lack of understanding the use of a dictionary to find the etymology of words versus one thinking it is that stupid AI again!

HAHA! You're killing me Jewels. I'm deeply affected. Your words certainly evolve. This is one of your more recent classics:
I was told by several staff that several weeks ago they did have issues with their bulk storage freezers and apparently they have not fixed the website since then. I was also told that it has effected those who use the customer pick up as well as delivery option. - HJ

I see I did use a word improperly there, but taking a cue from your book, I’m going to blame Bill Gates, Microsoft, Joe Biden and maybe Obama for that. Tim Cook and Apple as well.
At any event, if you desire to continue your immature little game here, please meet me over on the Bicker Board. I need a new Tom so I can continue as Jerry!
ETA: off to watch Bill Maher now! By the way, your former darling and friend, now turncoat traitor MTG is on tonight.

Jewels! Big love. Don't go off in a huff. As everyone knows and you have pointed out today, I am much too low IQ to ever be your Tom.
Honestly, I'd love for this thread to return to a good faith discussion on just how cheaply one can eat in Puna if they have the motivation. It's been pointed out how lazy I am and yet I manage to feed our family for peanuts (without peanuts). We are all glowing and could lose a couple of pounds.
It's Hawaii. There is a ton of food - like everywhere (except on the internet / Punaweb)
PSA: If you are hungry Punawebbers, please stop looking at your computer now. Go out and meet your neighbors. Try to learn how you can be of service to them. Tell them your story. Get the keiki involved. You will be surprised at all of the things that happen without any third party involvement at all. Try try!
Aloha PW, have a great weekend.

Aloha PW, have a great weekend.
Do you really think that making a snarky, underhanded and ridiculous reference about your morning breakfast, with an internet grabbed meme that is a symbol of the right wing propaganda and alleged conspiracy of Somali fraud being perpetrated all over God's green earth, coupled with the comment of "We performatively spritzed it with Braggs Apple Cider Vingar" [ sic] which was the same liquid used to attack an elected United States Representative, of the same ethnicity, is really a good way of having a good faith discussion about feeding families?
While maybe for you it might give you a %&$% (preemptively edited to save M2 some time) eating grin and a chuckle but for the average Puna resident, it does nothing or says nothing about feeding them. To the above average Puna resident it shows just what kind of person you really are.
Your "upside down and reverse Uno" debate style is deserving of an Grammy. Good luck on Sunday! Hope your weekend is great!
