Leonard Nimoy (who reportedly visited Hawaii multiple times and was featured in PBS Hawaii) represents (ed) all earthlings including Punatics in Hawaii and acknowledged climate change, which greatly affects islands like Hawaii, in a Nui kind of way.
He was appreciated by Hawaiians for saying:
“Life is Like a Garden…Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in our memories.” – Leonard Nimoy
He also acknowledged climate change which is of great concern to our Hawaiian Island Chain, with reasonable disclaimers (a thing real scientists do):
To be fair to both the PunaWeb reader, as well as scientists, but Leonard Nimoy was not a real scientist, but a highly acclaimed actor, director, and photographer best known for playing the fictional science officer Spock on Star Trek.

"...It would be so fun to hear the real views of the billionaire French-born Iranian-American in Hawaii, who brings us such "journalism", on current events..."
What on earth do the views of this man (owner of Civil Beat) have to do with the story?
If you prefer to "dig down to primary sources quickly", then send Bailey an email. Oh, never mind I've done that this AM and will report back if Will reports back.

Trying to also walk the Punaweb walk, what do you mean Tang by "PS: Huffpost was born of Civilbeat (Hawaii "Journalism" product) "
Huff(ington)Post was founded in 2005, Civil Beat in 2010, and the short-lived Huffpost Hawaii in 2013. Maybe some sort of time or mind warp caused by those mysterious Space vorteXes in the sky over Hawai'i? ;)
I have no idea on the color coding, but hopefully this helps any Deepa in da rabbit hole Parent here in Puna with Xtreme confusion.
HJ - To be fair to both the PunaWeb reader, as well as scientists, but Leonard Nimoy was not a real scientist
But he did play one on KGMB-TV Channel 9 for all those years so that's the same thing right? The fact that the disclaimer for the show that brought us "In Search Of... The Magic of Stonehenge" is the Tang gold standard for "honesty and humility to qualify their "science"" is wild and surely in jest, right? Tang must be working on a tight five routine for the open mic nights at Marzo's - "Dis one conspiracy braddah say da resorts not real - think all Waikaloa jus one big green screen. I say "If dat true, how come parking still twenty bucks, eh?"

In 2010, Omidyar launched an online investigative reporting news service, Honolulu Civil Beat, covering civic affairs in Hawaii. The site was named Best News Website in Hawaii for 2010, 2011, and 2012.[35] On September 4, 2013, Honolulu Civil Beat started a partnership with HuffPost, launching HuffPost Hawaii.
You may take it up with Wikipedia if you need a time machine. If you get one you could do great with your Polymarket thing. Ethically challenged and lacking in aloha but pallets of kālā!

Um, but that's not your "Huffpost was born of Civil Beat" statement, that's " Huffpost Hawaii" (established 2013) was born of "Civil Beat" (established 2010) and "HuffPost" (established 2005). We're both referencing Wikipedia and the dates are consistent if you spend more time reading than questioning people's ethics and aloha?
Would be interested to hear your answer to DF's question "What on earth do the views of this man (owner of Civil Beat) have to do with the story?" though as it could be instructive.
Not sure why you're so keen to fight, but Punaweb is what we make of it I guess. "From here on in, it's one battle after another"? ;)

Um, I was always talking about Huffpost Hawaii. I have to agree with Tomk regarding your epistemic violence.

Tang - Three days and still no reply on Huffpost Hawaii, breaking down those figgaz.
Will's story wasn't on Huffpost Hawaii (what is left of that project is actually here), it was on Civil Beat. Why are you trying to conflate the two and then link to the owner of Civil Beat?

Ok Tang, Punaweb corporate wants you to spot the difference in those two statements of yours. Unlike in The Office, they are not the same because " Huffpost" is not " Huffpost Hawaii", they have at least seven differences such as being different projects, with different founding dates, separate histories, etc... Reality is not on your side here, maybe easier to admit a mistake, rather than go to war with it?
Punatang - I have to agree with Tomk regarding your epistemic violence.
Tom said nothing about "epistemic violence" - he was going on accusing people of making strawmen as he is wont to do, so you're putting words in his mouth and agreeing with something he never said to criticize another Punaweb poster. Is this Tang trying to get another free vacation?
You could choose instead to answer DF as to why you're so concerned with the owner of Civil Beat and make a valuable contribution to the thread? Just a thought to consider (anyone want to place bets on kalshi? ;)

While I see this guy is now your new shiny object you have latched onto and to be mesmerized by, but I'd like to hear the reason why a guy who was born in Paris, to parents who hailed from Iran and has had no real dealing with Iran his whole life and is worth a reported net worth of close to 10 Billion, but if he really cared for "his people" why did not just go buy Iran and either turn it into a bigger hell hole or a utopia.
But I see no evidence, suggestions or reports of, even if you count the farthest right or left organization that this guy is or has been pushing for this "non-Hawaii" war. If he wanted this war, he can pay for it himself.

If you find Puna people mentioning things you are unable to uncover, using your preferred methods, one possible reason might be the palena of your methods.
In such a case, one may choose either to engage in epistemic injustice against their fellow Punawebbers, or they may consider adding breadth to their methods and increasing their knowledge and appreciation of their Puna brethren.
While not perfect by any means, freespoke.com often produces results that Punawebbers might not find in their normal hīna'i of learning methods. Freespoke.com which is available here in Hawaii, and the most basic search terms, led me to an akamai former, non-Hawaii US Senator, who lends great maopopo to the matter discussed above, on Punaweb. He hammers The Orange He'e so some folks might really enjoy the process. Good luck and may Maluhia be with you.

Quick Google search:
Freespoke was founded by a billionaire Trump donor who is also the former finance chairman of the RNC.
That’s Republican National Committee. Which puts 100% of their effort into electing Republicans. Not sure how that’s an unbiased source for those of us in Puna. Or Earth.
