How We Lost Our New [Big Island] Home To Trump's Illegal Tariffs
#51
Hey Tang! Thanks for that valuable link to such valuable outside of the mainstream media sources of information.

As an example, imagine my surprise to find out that without question, the moon landings were faked! Who would have thunk?

Truly valuable information to be gleamed! I'm hooked!

It's like a white mongoose shows up and makes some vague indications of trouble being afoot and when you ask what sort of trouble, you're shown the entrance to a lava tube, with its many branching passages and unstable flooring, and told the answer's in there somewhere, while the mongoose throws some advertisement at you about the wonders and riches to be had in the cave and runs off. Do you go down the mongoose's recommended lava tube and try to sort through the shadows and seek the answers, or just stay up in the light of day, maybe go listen to some steel guitar at the market?

Long Dark Cave vs Live Free Music?

If anyone, the white mongoose included, has a thought process to how to approach this dilemma and how to evaluate this or other "lava cave entrances" what with all their shadows being thrown on the walls, periodic collapses, and instabilities, I'd be interested to hear them. Sounds like mucking about with messy unreliable terrain with little to be gained without understanding what you're getting into and why. Might end up in a Kaneana Cave and never make it back out!

Yes,
Because when I would like to find out if there’s any inherent bias at a search/web/news organization, I would go directly to the source. I would like to read right on the website of the billionaire insider Republican donor whether or not he has the same right wing conservative leanings as he always had, or if he’s now suddenly moved dead center. His web page says their results are no bias centrist? Good enough for me.

Out here in the middle of the Pacific we’ve graduated from the coconut wireless, to a few newspapers, then some radio stations, and TV recorded on tape flown to the islands on a plane for delayed broadcast.

Now, we can pretty much access any information source even in the boondocks of Puna. Be sure to choose wisely.

And being in the boondocks with "real" news information being under the banner of "yesterday's news tomorrow" or still spread to this day by the coconut wireless, sure can make some just ripe to fall down the proverbial rabbit hole(s) of misinformation, conspiracy theories, rumor and innuendo and just lets them keep falling down the rabbit hole farther and farther.

As we see here, of course a billionaire French-born Iranian-American in Hawaii, who runs a Hawaii based news outlet is lying about everything every time his lips move, and is apparently involved in a conspiracy to be rooting for a recently started war, while on the other hand, suggesting that an internet AI search website owned by an Omaha Nebraska born billionaire is as honest, dead center and unbiased of an internet search engine as could be.

For the "open minded" of course.

Point taken, everyone, and I totally respect that some folks wanna stick with their trusty old familiar search engine.  I too, use those oldies, more often than not.  It's like staying in your favorite fishing spot because you know the ulua were there before. No shame in that, especially when you're cautious about what pops up or who might peek over your shoulder.  Those fish have ears! But for the more curious ones out there, who maybe like "go holoholo", who feel like maybe there's more to the mo'olelo than what's usually served up (and yeah, the main one is solid for plenty of things), give freespoke.com a quiet try. It's like stepping out of a lava tube into the full sunlight. Suddenly you see the whole landscape, both sides laid out clear, so you can judge for yourself. No tracking, no agenda pushing, just more light and less shadow.  Mahalo for considering it, and exploring wider when the time feels right.

No word from Will. I'm losing a bit of faith in his story.

DF - No word from Will. I'm losing a bit of faith in his story.
Can I ask why this is? Not trying to tell you what to think, just curious why Will not conversing with you personally changes what you believe?

Punatang - It's like staying in your favorite fishing spot because you know the ulua were there before.
But how does one go about picking the new fishing hole and know that the catch is not going to be riddled with fast infecting germs or slow accumulating neurotoxins, damaging the health and long term well-being of the both the fisherman and the community with which they share their catch? How does a fisherman judge for themself the presence of, or impacts from, such invisible but real threats? Fish may have ears and eyes but still not be able to hear or see enough to know.

Each of these fishing holes and caves appear to be filled with alluring but distorted reflections of things below and above, and only mere shadows of real things cast by false or flickering lights. As each puka also has an astounding and unnatural array and Matrix of offerings to explore and pursue, when does the fisherman consider that these puka may have been Artificially made and stocked, and that it's the fisherman themself that is being fished? Punatang is not the only fisher able to make loko i'a, hooks, and nets to get their haul!

Maybe enough mo'olelo lapu done already, no need try make more, or can only make bettah with one's own heart, mind, experiences, and hands?

Seems mo bettah to stay as much in the bright daylight of the real, with the sun beaming from above and warming one's heart and mind along with one's family and friends. Could even invite a stranger to share in the plenty - lots of the strange and stranger around Puna, some settled in with their i's dotted and t's crossed, and some with just their intrinsic dignity and worth.

(btw & sincerely, solid post imo - look forward to reading more like it :)

TLDR: For those not trying to train their Babel fish, this review has some insights on why one would, or would not, choose to use freespoke, but given how it filters sites ("showcases American-made and Veteran-owned businesses", blocks porn sites, left/center/right labels not explained/justified) I'm not sure how one could say it does not have an agenda, even if some may agree with it.

Oh, no worries, probably worth shining some more light on it anyways. Whenever I find myself underground in the Kazamura system it's hard not to ponder the allegory as your light source bobs around casting distorted shadows on every surface, as well as the transition into blinding light that forces you to squint your eyes when you emerge back up from the darkness.

Goggle summary (has a explanation breakdown as well): "Plato's Allegory of the Cave, from his book The Republic, uses the story of prisoners chained in a cave to illustrate the difference between illusion and reality, and the journey of education. The prisoners mistake shadows on a wall for reality, but a freed prisoner who escapes the cave and sees the true world (the "Forms") struggles to adjust and is met with disbelief and hostility upon returning to enlighten others, highlighting the difficulty of philosophical enlightenment."
