If you're "voting with your dollars" by choosing Starlink Amazon, how does voting against your own interests by funding the corpos' and billionaires' enshittification of everything for everyone besides themselves make any sense?

So while the existence of any billionaire is obviously a systemic failure while people go hungry and homeless, the billionaire class are not really all the same and so may deserve different priorities and treatments. Unless someone has info to share about Bezos/Zuck/Ellison, Musk's defense of sexualizing images of minors, to espousing white nationalism, to contributing hundreds of billions of dollars to far-right candidates both in the US and abroad, puts him at the top of the sh*t list to me.

And of course in contrast there is MacKenzie Scott with a net worth of ~$40 billion even after giving away ~$26 billion over the last several years. She known for making unrestricted gifts, allowing the organizations full control over how the money gets spent. Some people know how to use that Amazon money.

Larry Ellison's "everyone will be on their best behavior in an AI-fueled surveillance state" beliefs are certainly reprehensible especially when combined with his push for media take overs via Paramount/Skydance/CBS/CNN/HBO/Warner Bros/TikTok/etc. The fact that his Florida property is right near Mar-a-lago is no coincidence of course. Hopefully he stays there and leaves Hawai'i for good.

But think about the determination it takes to save a buck when they're willing to live in Florida to do so? Florida, of all places - maybe they are already starting to get their just desserts? ;)

I wonder how much time those billionaires actually spend in Florida compared to Hawaii?  Greed is one thing, but choosing the Florida lifestyle over island time is shear stupidity.

It’s a combination of their current level of greed, coupled with proximity to the people who could create an even greater level of greed in the future. Might make them blind to a preference for lifestyle?  Or most anything else.  They might still aspire to more gluttony though.
