That's going to be hard to see as it's in the west and the elevation isn't high. It'll be interesting to see if anyone sees it from the Puna side.

Clear sky where I was and dark enough - - a bright pass across the south sky.
Nice. No way I was going to see that from my location! The passes on Feb 10 and 11th should be easier to see, especially the Feb 11th pass.

Artemis 2 is on its way to the moon. The upper stage should reenter earth’s atmosphere somewhere east of Big Island. Not sure there will be anything to see, but here’s a few updates and maps:
The ICPS stage has now made a disposal burn and will reenter over the Pacific east of Hawaii sometime around 2330 UTC Apr 2 https://bsky.app/profile/planet4589.bsky...iehtrsvs2a https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index....msg2772486

Thanks. Iʻll keep an eye on this. Whereʻs a good link for more info?
Certainty will be the death of us.

We used to go to the summit of MK and watch the main rocket from some of the space shuttle launches, not all sent their waste this way, that would hit a spot "east of the Big Island." And oh my what a show those things put on as they came out of the west and looked as if they were going over the summit of ML.. as they burnt up entering the atmosphere.. as different parts broke off in flashes of tumbling debris burning in an entire rainbow of colors. For my money they were the best celestial events ever. Solar eclipses.. meteor showers.. are boring by comparison. .

I can’t find any additional information this morning on reentry today. 2330 UTC is 1:30 PM this afternoon in Hawaii, so about all we can do is head to the Puna coastline at that time, and look east. I’m not sure how big the ICPS stage is, but if large enough and enters the atmosphere near Big Island we may see something, although it is daylight. A lot of ifs, for that to be possible.

Artemis II will pass near Hawaii today on reentry, but well to the south of the islands at 1:53 PM HST. It shouldn’t be visible from here. Hopefully all goes well during the final leg of their (so far) successful mission.
