What the heck is this?!
#1
Suddenly infesting my beloved lychee tree.  Animal? Vegetable?  No doubt evil. I cut off the affected branches then sprayed the whole tree with neem/peppermint oil but....  what the heck is it?!

Iʻll answer my own question in case others have this problem. A reverse image search said itʻs Lychee Erinose Mite. Recommended treatment includes pruning infected branches then using a chemical sulfur spray but Iʻll try the neem oil first as Iʻd rather keep it organic. Bastards!

Gall or blister...... via wasp or mite

a lot of them are introduced. ie the one that is all over the waiwi strawberry guava rubbish trees and also the rubbish invasive Fuchsia up near Volcano Village both were introduced to slow their seed producing growth.

Yes, it's the Erinose mite. They come and go, usually not a big problem. This one has existed on island for a long time.
