I would like to caution members to avoid making negative comments in a review or otherwise of individuals who are not here to represent or defend themselves.

No more of it please.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Rob,

With all due respect, I am left a bit confused by your statement above.

Having said that, if this post is going to be perceived by you, or anyone else for that matter, as me trying to pick a fight, or what my occupation was or anything else other than the basic questions I am asking here, then, respectfully, just forget it.

In as much as I can agree in principle what you're reminding us about, for example, posting something negative about a fellow PunaWeb poster who may have been banned etc., however, in this context, and on this thread, what one could consider to be a negative review, is in the public domain. What was posted that I am assuming was the impetus of your warning, was a publicly issued news release from the State of Hawaii.

If your statement is relative to the posting of that news release, then, by virtue of your comment above, you're more or less saying that anything in the public domain is forbidden to be discussed. Are we now forbidden to discuss the guy who killed the 3 Puna residents? That could be considered negative comments and he's not here to defend himself.

Same would therefore apply to our State elected officials. Can we no longer discuss something Josh Green did that some would consider wrong and would make a negative comment about him? He too is not here to defend himself.

All I am asking is for a bit of clarification here. I can understand and would totally agree with any concern you may have with someone making a libelous statement of someone, but posting something that is in the public domain, issued by a duly authorized State office has, nonetheless, left me a bit confused as to what you're trying to warn us about.

Thank you in advance for any further guidance and clarification you may be willing to share with respect to this matter.

Aw shucks. Heʻs booked until August. I made an appointment but if anyone has any personal experience with anyone else Iʻd love to know about it.
