Any examples in Puna?
For example, the energy required by moderators to review posts, edit or delete if necessary?
I think a better question to ask is if the PunaWeb Administration is on the same page with respect to reviewing posts, editing or deleting, if necessary, as for example, a significant number of posts on another thread were edited by one Administrator just mere minutes to an hour or two after initial posting, right here in Puna, that just simply removed the quote of the post directly above it, but leaving the rebuttal post intact, whereas 48 to 60 hours later, the already prior edited posts are subsequently deleted, also right here in Puna.
So, it seems a lot more energy was expended than was needed.

If the shoe fits.. and omg, Tom, you're the quintessential example of.. they look perfect on you.
I am impressed how quickly the world has traded their concern for the environment for their love of all things AI. Fools, every last one of them.. selfish narcissistic idiots.. of which the pics posted here are perfect examples..
And no, the planet has not stopped warming, and every one of those data centers you all relish like children on Christmas morning, besides using an exorbitant amount of water and electricity, are emitting a phenomenal amount of heat. Which of course, is the real problem.. heat.
I refer you back to randomq's post #38. The planet is not dying. It will eventually recover, whether or not the human race fixes the problem of human-induced climate change, and whether we and other species survive. It has done it many times in history and will do so again. If you want to waste your time insulting everybody, that's fine, it's your prerogative, but it neither helps anyone nor certainly doesn't address energy issues in Puna and Hawaii. We have ample renewable energy resources here, including solar and geothermal. I suggest converting your anger to helping convince those who don't want those renewable sources to be expanded into changing their minds would be a much more productive path for you.

Anyone that says that as an excuse for gluttonous selfish behavior.. in my book.. has forfeited any respect.. any right to exist.. and their life is worthless. I would rather an obscure salamander survive than them. I would rather share this life with a slug.. an ameba.. than folks that justify their greed that way. In fact, to be blunt, they are the enemy. And, before all is said and done, will be dealt with accordingly.

OK. I have no right to exist because I expressed an opinion. If you want to share life with a slug or an amoeba, just go ahead; no one's stopping you. They don't argue back. In the meantime, those of us who have been trying to explain climate change and what can be done to change it "are the enemy" and will be "dealt with accordingly."
I've no idea why you post stuff like this. It's not the first time, and suspect it won't be the last, but perhaps you should look at what you wrote and reconsider if it's appropriate because it's way out there and extremely offensive. You're essentially saying that if people don't agree with your views, they should be killed.

Rob - you edited my post and removed the bit where I linked things to Puna and Hawaii.

Provide the amount in Joules and compare to the amount of energy you use every day. If it's a significant contributor to greenhouse gases, then we can reconsider. If it isn't, well, it's bullshit.

Fortunately George Carlin died before MyManao could assassinate him. At least that's who I was thinking of when I made my comment. I think it's true that the planet would recover after humanity, but don't personally use it as an excuse to ignore climate change...
Have we ever done a poll here on Punaweb? I wonder how many of us are off grid?

Of course, you shouldn't. The Earth has undergone several cycles of climate change and continues to recover. It'll happen again, but perhaps it'll take longer after an intelligent race fecked it up for everyone. I think we still have a chance to fix things, but it can't happen if MyManao gets his way.

I had a friend back in the 1980’s who lived a relatively low impact lifestyle, but he decided in order to complete his goals he needed to move somewhere without the necessity of a car. There were places he could live without a car, but there were other drawbacks. He almost settled on Nepal, but that wouldn’t work for some reason. He ended up staying where he was.
Do you hitchhike? Your added weight in the car burns more fuel. Grow your own garden? How do you get your seeds, by mail, at a garden center? Everyone on Punaweb uses energy just to get here.
The point is not trying to prove that apples might be the same as oranges, it’s how many apples? How many oranges?
I'm wondering where he was? A friend of mine bought a Puna property many years ago from a couple that had recently split up. She move to Las Vegas, he moved to Nepal. This divergent migration would suggest they had some irreconcilable differences!
There are a few folks on Papaya Farms Road who don't own cars and basically live off the land there. One of the guys murdered recently, Chitta Morse, lived that lifestyle. Naturally, they are not members of PunaWeb. It seems we have no representatives from that neighborhood here, or do we?

I'd say it's a safe bet that the "God" you believe exists, feels the same way as you.
