Unless I'm wrong, you have three options in total and only two options on 8/8.
Unless I missed that post, no one here is really advocating for Zak Whittenhagen. Notably, PW has been commendably kind.
So you can go with more of the same ol' same ol' - keep doing what you've been doing, and keep getting what you have, or, you can try something new - warts and all.
Up to you.
Whatever you say, you're right! It is your vote.

Tam's point is that we should produce our energy locally.
The tourism industry should also be local. It would make a huge difference if all that money stayed on-island.

We can all be tourists and staycation at the local Kukui Nut Resort to harvest the only truly local energy source.
Everything else is just imported power of one type or another and if geothermal isn't local enough power to support, then it's hard to see what else would be. It's almost like campaign slogans are insufficiently detailed to be treated as actual policy proposals.

Locally owned energy, food, and building material production would all be game changers. Consumer goods would probably not be feasible, but we can crack those other ones.
Oddly, I see our largest exports are aircraft parts and scrap steel?
Maybe we need to elect an accountant that looks at our economy in terms of inflows and outflows.

Now, now. We should, at the very least, be fair and let Tam, the environmental activist lawyer, have sufficient time to match Greggor's (High School Diploma, Waiakea High School) trove of white papers.

I'm trying to understand how some think Tam is against Geothermal and/or PGV.
It seems to me, he is making valid points by holding the current operators of PGV accountable and to stop wasting taxpayer money on more studies that prove geothermal power, as well as pointing out that there are cheaper and easier methods of implementing other forms alternative energy.

It would be nice to hear Greggor's thoughts for this upcoming election on geothermal and PGV, other than his long-standing position of "as long as it's done right."

Punatang - ...sufficient time to match Greggor's (High School Diploma, Waiakea High School) trove of white papers.
And yet somehow, Greggor managed to learn that whip-lashing like Tam from:
"Protect and expand PGV. Geothermal at 88% capacity factor is the irreplaceable foundation of the island’s clean energy system. The PGV repower EIS should be approved and expedited. No other technology on this island can provide comparable firm baseload renewable capacity at comparable cost. The Robust scenario calls for expansion to 60 MW." ( Tam Hunt - June 17th, 2026)
to:
"Where I Stand on Geothermal and PGV: No further expansion, and no new drilling in Lava Zone 1. Beyond the repower regulators have already approved, new generation on this island should be solar, wind, and storage — cheaper, safer, cleaner, and not sitting on an active rift zone." ( Tam Hunt - July 12th, 2026)
over the course of 3 weeks doesn't look real great or reliable. But some might have a higher tolerance than others for politicians that flip-flop their stances and say whatever it takes to try and garner votes. If he can't even figure out how to deftly maneuver local rural politics, best of luck to him in the big city!

Whenever someone adapts to new information, fact checkers examining a tiny 3- week timeline might call that "whiplash". Seems to me like Tam is learning and taking a fair and balanced approach to the needs and concerns of his potential constituency. Go Tam!

Russell Ruderman has endorsed Tam. That holds a lot of sway with me.
