Vote for Ilagan
Libraries are places where people learn, connect, and build community.
The vision for the Pahoa Library & Transit Hub began in 2014 and has been carried forward by many people. My job is simply to keep it moving.
Over the past two years, I’ve secured $3 million in state funding, the largest state investment in the project’s history.
When completed, the project will include a modern library with expanded educational programs and community services, along with a mass transit hub to better connect Puna.

Yes, I am well aware of that. But I can support other candidates in other districts if I so desire.
It just would have been nice to see Greggor, Tam and Zak all together where each one could have been asked the same question so everyone could hear each one's answer, but I am sure Greggor will excel in his safe little forum by himself.

Yeah, like being very instrumental in securing 9 million taxpayer bucks to dump in the ocean. Nothing political about that!

Interesting that before and during the dredging project you cheered it on.. and not until it was proven to be a failure did you have anything negative to say.
It's always easy to bitch about a dead horse.. the damn thing is dead already.. but where were you when we were all saying the project shouldn't happen in the first place?
But no matter, the fact is the constituents, a lot of them, asked Greggor and Joy and all the rest of them to do what they can.. and they could only get so much freed up from the larger pie stateside. They tried, (do you get that? They tried to do right by their constituents) they got what they could, and did what could be done with the little they got. Going on browbeating the guy that tried is really out of place, and more a statement of just how quick some are to forget the nuances in favor of the soundbites.. especially when they give them license to indulge in negativism.
Sam Son started a thread that encapsulated a lot of our concerns up front...

Where were you?
But then Sam Son started another thread that announced the project's failure..

And you were first in line...
Seems like a pattern.

Seems like a pattern.
The only pattern I see here is how you seemingly always have the knack for taking what someone says and twisting it to fit the narrative YOU desire to portray.
Yeah, during the project, I discussed its status and progress. And then I discussed the insulting of our elected people, not the failure of the project in and of itself. I never said I supported it or cheered it on. I simply discussed its progress.
Nice try. But as usual, you fail miserably. Get off that free Amazon chair! Barney and I just got back from our first of 2 daily 1 plus mile walks! Apparently, all you've done this morning is research what I said and watch YouTube music videos. And even after wasting all that time, got it wrong!

HiloJulie. You seem to be suggesting to me that you may need some time off.

Obie Posted: I read a post that Tam hastily took down
Obie, I don't think Tam took down any post. The post you made, in which you doxed his home, where he lives, was hastily taken down - thank goodness. The post you are accusing him of taking down is this one, isn't it? His akamai post lives on.

"Aloha, Tam here. 1) The traditional new legislator route is lonely and difficult and requires waiting on the backbenches until leadership deigns to offer you something important and then you slowly gather power. I don't plan to play that game. I am already working up alliances with like-minded candidates and existing legislators, neighbor island reps, Republicans who agree with my on my more libertarian views (I am a "left libertarian" in the Chomsky mold), and those who value RESILIENCE as much as I do, to get some serious stuff done even in my first year. I have a list of bills I will introduce, focused on local food, local power, affordable housing, new building codes and zoning, and getting big money out of politics. 2) I am always open to compromise but given the urgency of the issues I'm addressing I will do my best to stay true to my vision and my gut. I don't believe I doxed his home, I posted that he was running a vacation rental.
His rental ad doesn't disclose his TAT or GET license numbers as required by law.
He also had 2 vacation rentals and neither had the required information.
In case you are looking for a place to vacation in HPP he has availability on August 15th.
What's really neat is his vacation rental in HPP is his primary residence and he claims a homeowners exemption on his taxes.
The only reason I am posting this is it pisses me off when a lawmaker or a potential one blatantly breaks the law.
I feel the same way about Ruderman, he demanded the speed limit be lowered on highway 130 and he had numerous speeding and cell phone violations.

Tam's vacation rental add you posted, Obie, had a quote by Tam that said, "This is my home, where I live. I have two cats, you will be responsible for feeding the cats while you are here." There was a really cute photo of his two cuddly cats. The ad you posted also shows that he has a Little Free Library (LFL) in front of his home, just like Ms. Ferret. Vote cha-ching.
So, it definitely appears that it is his home which you doxxed. Seems like maybe you didn't read the ad before you posted it. Maybe you were too pissed off to digest all of the information in Tam's advertisement.
Anyway, his post is up. Your post was hastily removed.

I understand all of that. He admits he has a vacation rental.
He is not following the law because he doesn't have his license numbers listed in the ad and when you inquire about renting, the taxes are not listed separately.
It pisses me off when someone runs for an office that writes the laws and that person can't follow the law.

Are you 100% sure? If you missed the part about it being his home, where he lives, with his cats, photos and all, then isn't it possible that you also missed the stuff you are pissed off about not seeing? Clearly there was some selective internalization taking place. That happens more when people are pissed off.
