Tam Hunt - PGV Statement
Cluster defined.
Reply
Tam has entered the all out blitz part of his campaign. Pandering for votes is what ity appears to me.

He's gotten Jim Albertini's endorsement by promising to go after the military to clean up PTA.
Roger Christie, he promised legal marijuana and hemp cultivation within 120 days.
Anti PGV group, no more drilling.
He is going to fix everything just ask him.

I could go on but I'm not impressed with the shiny new thing.

Just ask him? He didn't stick around long enough to be asked, let alone answer..

And still, nothing gets done with anything shy of a majority.. which in the state legislature is 26 people.. and the senate 13.. agreeing.. and the governor signing off on it as well. And that's next year.. not in 120 days.

Legal cultivation in 120 days is like saying Santa will make it happen. Killing geothermal, when the state is the one that made geothermal happen in the first place? Telling the feds what for over PTA when they are already in the middle of lease negotiations? All pie in the sky nonsense.. that will never get a majority of anything..

But hey.. with a group like Albertini and Christie, and the south of the rift be-here-now crowd thrown in for good measure, as long as the buds are fresh he could convince anyone... who has faith in the likes of Jim and Roger..

Meanwhile the more I think of it.. that "business as usual" stuff has a whole lot more potential to actually get something done. Thanks, Obie, for sharing examples of what Greggor has actually done.. there's such a dichotomy between them and the anti-Greggor sound bites that get passed around..

anti-Greggor sound bites

It sure would have been nice to hear ANY sound bites from Greggor. And yeah, who wants depleted uranium cleaned up and legal pot? But then, why not add in the equivalent of the TMT land desecration claims from the Native Hawaiians with geothermal?

We'll find out Saturday night!

Good Luck Tam!

How you think your boy toy is gonna accomplish any of the things he says he is gonna do?

There is great value in having elected officials pushing for things and starting conversations about things that will not happen until after they are gone.  It is much better to have passionate, intelligent voices, in high places, advocating for things that will improve our lives and our environment, even if those voices won't be sponsoring the final legislation that gets it done.

By electing those voices, we voters push for the changes we are hoping for.  We have to get the ball rolling.  Greggor just sits on the ball.  Great guy.  Not a mover or a shaker.  Tam will open The Overton Window, wide.  Know that.

Have a great weekend Punaweb!

Reality.

Such as, howz that hunt going for the thousands of unaccounted for ballot envelopes? What was that all about anyways? There were too many, not enough? Seriously, 'Tang.. you do realize you've had a lotta gotchas but never seem to get anything.. right?

So yeah.. the guy says a lot.. he's gonna do xy and z over night, and yet when it's pointed out he needs a consensus of the legislators to do anything you, obviously being smart enough to know that ain't gonna happen, all of a sudden are fine with failure.. as if making noise and getting even less is preferable.

Well, the Watumull family holds up HPP as a success story... so I guess you can spin it anyway you want. And, to be honest, as long as all the little 'Tangs are happy all's to the good, right?

Me? I'm curious what percentage of the ballots mailed out actually get returned. In other words, of all the registered voters how many actually care.. do you think we'll top a third?

Turnout could be a good test of Hunt's popularity.  I imagine he will need a good one to win.

As an example, look how long it is taking to manifest Linda Lingle's 100% renewable energy vision for Hawaii.  What if she had never pushed so hard against the old guard to get the ball rolling?  Heck, even Sen. Inouye respected all that she accomplished enough to spend some serious political capital, which he took a great deal of heat for.  It is those types of heros, who are willing to go against the grain, that ultimately get the big things done.  Greggor, sadly hasn't shown that kind of tenacity.  Go along to get along just doesn't get it done.

It is already being reported that turnout for this election could be a "new low," which, might in effect, help Tam more than hurt him.

At any event, for a State that once posthumously reelected a member to Congress, anything is possible!

Stay tuned!!
