12 gauge wire is probably large enough for the extension cord(s)? Especially since it’s not running constantly.
They have a large amp draw. Better be work fairly close to an outlet.
Here comes da moke!

Good news. The next two areas of potential tropical storms look very clearly like they will not pose a threat to Hawaii. We get a bit of respite as we replenish our supplies and wait for the D batteries to arrive. Enjoy it while it lasts.

For next Tuesday
Blue is Google - the 90 degree turn is after the island chain, but a concerning movement
Yellow and red are ECMWF - not sure if the end point of the storm is because they dissipate, or because that’s as far as the storm is modeled

Updated model run, for next Thursday, September 3. Still at least a week away before this system starts affecting the islands, still showing a sharp 90 degree turn northward after it passes Big Island. Category 3 as it approaches, worth keeping a watch for now.

There’s also tropical storm Karina further out there. Durgin says “all models give wildly different solutions for both so we will have to be patient”, or something like that.

From cyclocane, which has proved to be very accurate so far this season, it looks like Karina will go far north of us and fall apart before it gets here, but there is now another storm abrewing off central America, details unknown yet. And yes, keep an eye on Lowell which shows strengthening as it approaches but itʻs still too early to know if itʻs a danger to us. Is it November yet?????

Lowell has temporarily stopped moving west. What we don't want to see is the two storms merge into one.
